Before booking an unlimited-beer tour in Croatia, verify exactly what “unlimited” means, which drinks are included in the price, and how long service lasts. Then check the boat, itinerary, cancellation terms, and the operator’s safety rules. The label alone does not establish any of those details, so rely on the specific tour listing and written booking conditions.
What does “unlimited beer” include?
Ask the operator to define the offer in writing. “Unlimited” by itself does not specify the beer, serving size, or time period, and it does not establish whether other drinks are included or whether beer could run out.
- Which beer brands or types are included?
- What is the serving size, and during which hours is beer available?
- Are non-beer drinks included, or do they cost extra?
- Is supply guaranteed for the full service window?
Do not assume the phrase covers every beverage on board. Compare the written answer with the listing and confirmation before paying.

Separate drinks included in the advertised tour price from onboard catering charged in addition. For catering supplied separately from the trip price on a nautical-tourism vessel, Croatia’s Tourism Services Act addresses consumption norms, visible prices, menus or drink lists, accurate receipts, and the prohibition on serving or allowing alcohol consumption by people under 18. See the Tourism Services Act; the Ministry of Tourism and Sport’s regulations index lists amendments through NN 126/2025, so the 2017 publication should not be treated as a consolidated current text.

When drinks cost extra, check the onboard price list and ask how charges will appear on your receipt. The statutory requirement applies to the relevant separately supplied onboard catering; it does not tell you whether a particular tour includes drinks in its ticket price.
What should you compare between tour listings?
Use the operator’s current listing and booking conditions to compare the details that shape the trip, rather than comparing tours by the “unlimited” label alone.

| Check | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Price | Total price, booking fees, and which drinks or catering are included versus charged separately. |
| Boat and passengers | Vessel description, passenger capacity, and any passenger rules stated by the operator. |
| Departure and return | Meeting point, departure time, expected return time, and trip duration. |
| Route | Planned route and stops, and whether the listing describes them as fixed or subject to change. |
| Changes and cancellation | Rescheduling, cancellation, and poor-weather terms before payment. |
These are operator-specific terms. No single itinerary, price, or cancellation policy applies to all Croatia boat tours, so use the conditions attached to the particular booking.
Who may drink, and what about the person operating the boat?
Croatia’s Tourism Services Act requires the relevant provider to display and observe a prohibition on serving or allowing alcoholic drinks to be consumed by people under 18 in the covered onboard-catering context. The World Health Organization’s Croatia alcohol-policy fact sheet also lists 18 as the minimum selling age for beer, wine, and spirits; the Croatian statute is the applicable legal reference.

Passengers should distinguish their situation from that of the person in charge of the boat. UK government Croatia travel advice states: “Do not drink alcohol if you’re in charge of a yacht or boat.” That is travel advice, not a complete account of every Croatian maritime rule. Follow the crew’s instructions and do not assume that a passenger drink allowance applies to the person operating or in charge of the vessel.

Save the listing, booking confirmation, messages with the operator, and receipts. If the service does not match what was promised, these records help show the terms you were given. Croatia’s Tourist Inspectorate says it inspects legal conditions for tourism services and consumer protection, and accepts reports about irregularities in tourism services; see its official site.
