Rockstar’s Vice City Collection costs £349.99 in the UK, according to Push Square, and it does not include Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar’s listing says the game is sold separately. That makes the box a striking example of how premium gaming merchandise can sit apart from the game itself—not proof, on its own, that games have become five times more expensive.
What is the Vice City Collection?
Rockstar calls it Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a premium collector’s box inspired by the in-world television show Macca the Gator. Rockstar describes the set as limited edition on its official GTA VI page. The Rockstar Store listing presents it as merchandise, not as a game edition.
The box contains 11 listed items:
- Macca the Gator figure
- Oakley Frogskins sunglasses
- Leonida Keys crossbody bag
- New Era 9FORTY snapback hat
- Macca magnetic mirror
- Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
- Vice City swizzle spoon
- Razor-blade-style keychain
- Enamel pin set
- Sticker pack
- Double-sided Leonida map poster
Does the £349.99 box include GTA VI?
No. Rockstar’s product listing explicitly says: “Note: Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately.” A buyer who wants to play the game must buy it separately from the collection.
There is a further format distinction for anyone expecting a boxed disc. Rockstar Support says the Standard Edition includes the game, but the physical version is a download code in a box and does not contain a disc. See Rockstar Support’s GTA VI information for the official format detail.

How does the box compare with the game’s UK price?
Push Square reported a UK price of £349.99 for the Vice City Collection and listed the GTA VI Standard Edition at £69.99. On those reported prices, the merchandise box costs about five times as much as the game. The comparison is useful for understanding the additional outlay, but these are different products: one is a game, while the other is a merchandise collection that excludes it.
| Product | Reported price | What the price covers |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City Collection, UK, 2026 | £349.99 | Merchandise box; game sold separately |
| GTA VI Standard Edition, UK, 2026 | £69.99 | Game; Rockstar Support says the physical package contains a download code, not a disc |

What does the GTA V comparison show—and what does it not show?
Take-Two’s 2013 announcement priced the US GTA V Collector’s Edition at $149.99. It included the full retail game alongside physical merchandise and digital extras, according to the Take-Two announcement. That is a meaningful contrast in bundle design: the older edition included the game, whereas the current Vice City Collection is merchandise sold separately from GTA VI.
It is not a like-for-like price comparison. The 2013 figure is in US dollars, while the current figures are UK pounds; the bundles have different contents, and one includes the game while the other does not. The available sources do not establish a comparable 2013 UK price for the GTA V set, so they cannot show how much the price of an equivalent collector’s bundle has risen in real UK terms.

The Bank of England inflation calculator uses ONS CPI data from 1988 onward and describes its results as approximate guides to UK purchasing power, with longer-range comparisons less accurate. But an inflation calculator cannot make products or currencies directly comparable, and the source record does not provide the matched UK historical price needed for that calculation. ONS publishes UK CPI, CPIH and RPI data, but those measures do not fill that missing product-price comparison.

The clearest point is about segmentation: a premium merchandise set can be priced separately from the game it is themed around. The £349.99 reported price is a substantial outlay for fans who want the box, and the separate £69.99 game price makes the combined spend higher still if a buyer wants both. That does not establish an industry-wide trend in game prices or prove that gaming overall has become more expensive by a particular amount.

For buyers, the practical distinction is simple: treat the Vice City Collection as collectible merchandise, not as a way to obtain GTA VI. For anyone judging the wider claim of “escalating cost,” this product illustrates one route to higher spending—premium extras detached from the game—while the available historical evidence is not enough to measure a comparable long-term price increase.
