The CORSAIR HX1500i SHIFT meets the requested rail threshold: CORSAIR rates its +3.3V and +5V outputs at a combined maximum of 150W, 8W above 142W. That makes it a documented match for this specific requirement, but not automatically the right PSU for every PC. Check the system’s total power needs, case clearance, connectors and input voltage before choosing it.
What PSU with at least 142W combined on the +3.3V and +5V rails would you recommend?
The CORSAIR HX1500i SHIFT is one documented option. CORSAIR’s product specifications list a maximum combined output of 150W for the +3.3V and +5V rails. That is 8W above the 142W minimum. The product page lists each rail at 25A; use the combined-output rating, rather than adding the two rail values as if they could each deliver their maximum simultaneously.
This is a specification match, not a finding that the HX1500i SHIFT is the only PSU meeting the requirement. The available specifications do not establish a comparable alternative, so check another candidate’s own product table for its combined +3.3V/+5V maximum.
Check the total output against your build and input voltage
The HX1500i SHIFT’s total rated output depends on input voltage: CORSAIR lists 1500W at 115–240V input and 1200W at 100–115V input. Confirm the voltage available where the PSU will be used, then assess whether the applicable total rating suits the complete system. The 150W rail figure alone does not determine the right overall PSU capacity.

Verify case fit and power connectors
CORSAIR describes the model as ATX 3.1 compliant and PCIe 5.1 ready. Those descriptions do not remove the need to check your particular build: confirm the PSU’s physical dimensions fit the case and that its available connectors meet the motherboard and graphics card requirements. The product specifications and your component manuals are the appropriate references for that check.
What the HXi series guide adds
CORSAIR’s HXi Series guide also lists the HXi models’ +3.3V and +5V rails at 25A each and describes over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit, over-power and over-temperature protection. For this recommendation, the product-specific combined rating of 150W is the key evidence that the HX1500i SHIFT clears the 142W threshold.
