There is no single published price for ISO/IEC 27001 certification at an Indian software company. Provider estimates published in 2026 range from about ₹2 lakh to ₹10 lakh for a first certification cycle, and the spread comes mostly from different assumptions about company size, scope, readiness and what each price includes. Treat any rupee figure as an attributed estimate for a defined scope. For budgeting, split the cost into three streams: consulting and implementation, the certification-body audit, and your own staff time, then add surveillance and recertification for the years that follow.
The published estimates and why they do not line up
The figures below are the ones currently available from Indian providers. Each is the provider’s own estimate, written for its own customer assumptions. None is an independent market survey, and the figures should not be averaged into one tariff.
| Provider and date | Company profile assumed | Figure reported | What the figure covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tranquility Cybersecurity (TCSA), 2026 article, updated June 2026 | Typical company of 10 to 100 people | ₹2 to 4 lakh | Roughly ₹1 to 3 lakh consulting, plus an indicative ₹0.8 to 1.2 lakh certification-body audit |
| Tranquility Cybersecurity (TCSA), cost guide last reviewed June 2026 | Not stated | ₹1 to 3 lakh indicative consulting fee | Consulting only; Stage 1 and Stage 2 certification-body audit fees are separate and vary with size and number of sites |
| MYITMANAGER, June 2026 | Startup or SME of 10 to 50 employees | ₹5 to 8 lakh | Consulting and certification audit estimated as separate fees; assumptions differ from TCSA’s |
| CyberWave GRC, October 2026 | Small company or mid-sized company (headcount not stated) | ₹6 to 10 lakh first-year cost | About ₹3 lakh consulting for a small company or ₹5 lakh for a mid-sized company, plus ₹3 to 5 lakh for Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits |
The recurring-cost figures come from one provider only. TCSA’s 2026 estimates put annual surveillance at ₹60,000 to ₹80,000 and recertification in the fourth year at ₹1.5 to 2.5 lakh. These are indicative, and the certification body you choose will set the actual schedule.
The estimates also do not answer every question readers ask. The TCSA range applies to companies of 10 to 100 people, so it does not directly answer the common question about a company of 100 to 200 employees. No published estimate in this set addresses that headcount band specifically.

What a quote pays for
An ISO 27001 budget has five cost streams. Providers often bundle them, so the first task is to find out which ones a quote actually covers.
Readiness and implementation
This is the consultant’s work: gap assessment, risk assessment, ISMS documentation, control implementation or remediation, staff training, and internal audit preparation. Consultant fees often cover these items, but exclusions vary. Ask whether remediation work, such as configuring access controls, logging, or vendor assessments, is included or billed separately.
Certification-body audit
The certification body charges for its own assessment, separately from any consultant. Expect separate Stage 1 and Stage 2 fees. Ask each certification body to state in writing what its quote covers: travel, follow-up on audit findings, and the certification decision. TCSA states that its consulting price is separate from the certification-body fee, and the same separation applies to every quote in the table above.

Internal staff time and remediation
Your own team must supply evidence, attend workshops, review policies, and implement controls. This is the least predictable cost, and none of the sources reviewed for this article gives a dependable rupee amount or an hours-per-employee benchmark. Estimate it from your own gap analysis: list the controls you already meet, the ones you partly meet, and the ones you do not meet, then assign owners and hours to each gap.
Surveillance and recertification
Certification is not a one-time purchase. Surveillance audits recur through the certificate cycle, and recertification comes at the end of it. Build a multiyear view that runs at least through the first recertification, and do not treat the first-year quote as the total cost.
Optional GRC and compliance software
Governance, risk and compliance platforms can replace some consultant work or support it. The cost comparisons available are written by the vendors and providers who sell these services, so verify any figure against a current written quote. Software does not confer certification. You still need an accredited certification body to audit the management system.

Why two quotes for the same company can differ by lakhs
Price depends on the work the quote assumes, not just on company size. The main drivers are:
- Headcount and the number of people inside the defined scope.
- Number of sites, offices, or data centres, since each adds audit time.
- Which products, systems, and teams fall inside the certified scope.
- Infrastructure complexity, including cloud accounts, third-party hosting, and development pipelines.
- Existing security maturity: a company with documented policies and working controls needs less remediation than one starting from scratch.
A narrowly scoped, prepared, single-site company is not comparable to a multi-site firm with substantial remediation needs, even when both have similar headcounts.

Checking the certifier and the standard in India
Two official bodies anchor the Indian process. The BIS scheme is identified as IS/ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management Systems, and BIS publishes pages covering the process, fees, licence, surveillance, renewal and related scheme information. NABCB publishes a directory of accredited Information Security Management Systems certification bodies, along with accreditation validity information. Its ISMS accreditation criteria are based on ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and set requirements for certification bodies that certify ISMS.
- Check that the certification body appears in the NABCB directory of accredited ISMS certification bodies.
- Confirm the body’s accreditation is current and that its accredited scope covers your services and locations.
- Confirm that your consultant is a separate party. A consulting firm does not certify your management system.
- Read the BIS scheme pages for the current process, fee, licence, surveillance and renewal requirements before you sign a multiyear contract.
How to compare proposals
Send every bidder the same written scope, then compare the proposals against this list:
- People, locations and systems in scope, stated by number and name.
- Products and teams included, and any that are excluded.
- The readiness assumptions behind the quote, including the consultant’s view of your current controls.
- Consultant deliverables, and any remediation or tooling that is excluded.
- Certification-body Stage 1 and Stage 2 fees, and whether follow-up on findings is included.
- Travel and other pass-through charges.
- The internal staff effort the proposal expects from you.
- Annual surveillance fees and the recertification fee for the cycle.
Once the proposals are on the same scope, the differences in price usually trace back to one or two of these lines.

No independent, current set of Indian quotes for a consistently defined software-company scope has been published. The available figures come from providers with commercial interests, and their assumptions differ. Internal staff cost and remediation cost cannot be calculated without a gap analysis of your own company. Before you present a bespoke budget as fact, collect real written proposals and check each one against the list above.
Published provider figures for this topic are dated 2026, and certification-body fees and BIS scheme terms may change. Check them directly with the certification body and BIS before you commit.
