+voicerecord is described in a Steam Community guide as a command for recording Team Fortress 2 voice chat. The available evidence does not establish that a separate, verified product or service called “+Voicerecord” exists. What does +voicerecord refer to?
The name appears in two different contexts. A Steam Community guide uses +voicerecord for Team Fortress 2 (TF2) voice-chat recording. +voicerecord. - It says to stop and save the recording with
-voicerecord.
The guide also says voice_loopback 1 makes the user’s microphone audible and included in the recording; leaving loopback disabled avoids recording the user’s mic, according to that guide. These descriptions are not independently confirmed here, and current behavior or compatibility with particular TF2 versions has not been established by official Valve documentation.
Does it record your own microphone?
According to the Steam Community guide, that depends on voice_loopback: the guide says enabling it includes and plays back the user’s microphone, while leaving it disabled avoids capturing that mic. Treat this as the guide’s account rather than a universal or officially verified behavior. If capturing your own voice matters, check the result with a short test in your setup before relying on it.

Is +Voicerecord a standalone recording app?
The evidence available does not establish a verified standalone app or service under that name. A standalone voice memo recorder, a VoIP platform’s call-recording feature, and a game voice-chat command operate in different contexts; their controls, audio sources, and storage destinations are not interchangeable. Documentation for those other systems cannot confirm the features attributed to “+Voicerecord” by the BlinksAndButtons article.
