The golf game Bart gets instead of Bonestorm is Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge, a fictional game in the Simpsons episode “Marge Be Not Proud.” Activision Blizzard identifies it as a parody of the real NES game Lee Trevino’s Fighting Golf.
What is Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge?
It is the deliberately unexciting golf game Bart receives in “Marge Be Not Proud.” He wants Bonestorm, a violent video game, but gets Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge instead. The joke turns on the sharp contrast between the action Bart expected and a restrained putting game. Activision Blizzard’s account of fake games in The Simpsons identifies the title and episode context.

What real game inspired the parody?
Activision Blizzard identifies Lee Trevino’s Fighting Golf, a real NES golf game, as the inspiration for the fictional Lee Carvallo title. The names are easy to mix up, but they refer to different games: Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge exists within The Simpsons; Lee Trevino’s Fighting Golf is the real game behind the parody. Wikisimpsons’ entry also documents the fictional game.

Can you play Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge?
A fan-made playable version was created years after the episode. In a June 16, 2020 Golf Channel article, its developer, Aaron Demeter, described it as a tech demo he made while learning game design. The article reported 132,000 combined downloads and playthroughs at that time; that is a dated total, not a current count or a figure for the fictional game.

No. The Simpsons Archive’s video-game guide lists other golf-related appearances, including golf at Circuit Circus and Zii Sports in episode code MABF03. Those are separate references and do not change which game Bart gets instead of Bonestorm: Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge. The guide is version 4.2, updated April 2014.
