BforeAI announced its PreCrime Guarantee on May 28, 2024: a performance-linked pledge that may reimburse eligible customers after a cyberattack associated with a failure of PreCrime’s predictive solution. The advertised ceiling is up to 10 times contract value, but the launch announcement and the company’s current page describe the calculation differently. Buyers need the applicable customer agreement to know what qualifies, what losses count, and how to make a claim.
What the PreCrime Guarantee promises
BforeAI’s May 28, 2024 launch announcement described the guarantee as a breach-protection pledge: customers affected by a cyberattack due to a failure of BforeAI’s predictive solution could be reimbursed up to 10 times the value of their service contract. The company’s current guarantee page describes the maximum as up to 10 times annual service contract value and says a customer submits proof of loss if a successful attack occurs because the solution failed.
Those descriptions establish the broad idea, not a complete claim rule. Because the stated calculation basis differs, “up to 10 times” should be treated as an advertised ceiling, not a definite payout formula. The applicable agreement would need to say how contract value is measured and what amount, if any, is payable in a particular case.

What buyers should verify in writing
The public guarantee summary does not spell out the complete customer terms. Before relying on the pledge in a procurement or risk decision, ask BforeAI to provide the governing agreement and clarify these points:
#1 Best Overall
- Qualifying event: What counts as a successful cyberattack, and what evidence establishes that the attack resulted from a failure of PreCrime?
- Calculation and cap: Is the reference amount the service contract value or annual service contract value, and how is the maximum payout calculated?
- Covered loss: Which costs or losses may be reimbursed, and which are outside the pledge?
- Claim procedure: What proof must the customer submit, to whom, and by what deadline?
- Eligibility and exclusions: Which customers, services, deployments, or circumstances qualify, and what exclusions apply?
- Disputes and governing terms: Which agreement controls if marketing language and contract language differ, and how are disagreements resolved?
- Other coverage: How does a payment under the guarantee interact with the buyer’s separate cyber insurance?
The reviewed public materials do not comprehensively answer these questions, so customers should not assume terms that are not in their agreement.
Is the guarantee insurance?
BforeAI’s customer-facing page markets the pledge as “Not insurance – just accountability.” Munich Re’s case study, however, says Munich Re Group insures certain liabilities under the guarantee, subject to the policy’s terms and conditions. It also says BforeAI’s insurance is underwritten by a primary insurance carrier of the Munich Re Group.
These statements describe different layers: the customer-facing commitment is presented as a vendor reimbursement guarantee, while the Munich Re case study describes insurance behind certain related liabilities. That does not make the guarantee itself a customer insurance policy, nor does the public case study disclose the complete insurance policy or customer agreement. Buyers should review the relevant contractual documents rather than infer coverage from either slogan.

What the launch announcement says about performance
The launch announcement reported a 0.05% false positive rate and said an insurance partner validated the platform against its go-to-market claims in a nine-month process. These are BforeAI’s reported figures and description; they are not independent validation established by the public materials cited here. The announcement also quoted Signify’s chief security officer describing avoided attacks and saying the guarantee could help when allocating budget and managing cyber insurance premiums. That is customer testimony quoted by the vendor, not an audited outcome or independently verified premium result.

The announcement additionally referenced a $15 million Series A as recent company context. That funding figure does not by itself establish the guarantee’s eligibility, coverage, or performance.

BforeAI describes PreCrime as a business software platform for predictive attack intelligence and digital risk protection. Its technical documentation covers brand protection, threat intelligence, APIs, and disruption of malicious infrastructure: BforeAI technical documentation. The guarantee concerns this B2B service; it is not a consumer product warranty or a substitute for a buyer’s broader security controls.
