What is Riftbound? It is Riot Games’ physical trading card game set in the League of Legends universe. Players choose champions and use armies and spells to fight for control of battlefields. Riot says the game supports two to four players, with one-on-one and multiplayer play.
How do you play Riftbound?
The basic idea is a contest over battlefields: players bring champions, units or armies, and spells into play to gain control. Riot describes the game as “A strategic card game where Champions fight for control of battlefields.”
That overview is not a substitute for the current rules. Turn order, card timing, scoring, and victory conditions are defined in the Core Rules. Riot’s official rules hub says the Core Rules cover deckbuilding, card and ability timing and resolution, and the order of effects. The hub lists the linked rules as updated July 16, 2026, and also provides patch notes and errata.

How many players can play Riftbound?
Riot’s FAQ states that Riftbound supports two to four players. The game overview identifies one-on-one play and four-player free-for-all. For current format rules or event-specific requirements, check the rules hub rather than assuming every product or organized-play format uses the same setup.

What is the best Riftbound starter set?
For a beginner who wants guided learning and a small group to play with, Riftbound Proving Grounds is the clearest starting point described by Riot. Its English box is designed for two to four players and includes prebuilt decks featuring Annie, Master Yi, Lux, and Garen. Riot says the decks are ready for immediate play and the learning experience includes upgrade suggestions.
The Riot Merch Store page displayed $39.99 when accessed October 7, 2026. That is a captured listing price, not a guarantee of the current price or availability at every retailer. The page describes the English product and requires a Riot ID to purchase.

A preconstructed deck gives you a defined starting deck; a booster contains randomized cards and is better understood as a way to expand a collection, not as a guaranteed ready-to-play deck. Riot’s How to Buy Riftbound guide outlines the launch product types and points readers to a store locator.
What set is current, and when is Radiance coming out?
Riot’s FAQ says Riftbound released in English on October 31, 2025. As of October 7, 2026, Riot’s August roadmap schedules Radiance as the game’s fifth set, with English, Chinese, and French launches planned for October 23, 2026. That date is a scheduled launch, not a confirmation that the set has already released.

Riot’s Radiance Booster Display page describes 14-card packs drawn from a 180-card pool, including more than 60 Showcase cards, with 24 packs in a display. Those figures apply to Radiance, not every set. The page showed the display as out of stock when accessed October 7, 2026; stock and release status can change.

Check the relevant store for regional availability, current stock, and pricing; these details can change.
