Multiselect V07 is a web-interface code snippet, not a physical box. Colorlib describes it as a creative multiselect dropdown whose field changes text and outline color on hover; when opened, the dropdown lets users choose topics, which then appear in the main bar and disappear from the menu. It is one of the examples in Colorlib’s 2026 multiselect collection.
What makes Multiselect V07 distinctive?
V07’s defining behavior is the relationship between the open menu and the selected values: selected topics are shown in the main bar and removed from the dropdown’s available choices. Colorlib also describes a hover effect that changes the field’s text and outline color. These are the publisher’s descriptions of the interface, not results of independent usability testing.
How is the snippet built and used?
Colorlib says its examples use plain HTML, CSS, and a small amount of vanilla JavaScript; they do not require jQuery, Bootstrap files, or a multiselect plugin. The publisher says they can be used on their own or in projects using Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6. It also says 20 of the collection’s dropdowns retain a real <select> underneath and write selections back to it for form submission. The source does not identify V07 among those 20, so confirm its markup and submission behavior in the actual snippet before relying on it in a form.
Bootstrap 5 can style a native <select multiple>, but Colorlib says it does not supply the checkbox-, tag-, or search-style dropdown interface shown in its examples. To read selected values, inspect the underlying select element where one is present; verify V07’s implementation rather than assuming every example handles form data identically.

Is it free to use commercially?
Colorlib states that the snippets are free for personal and commercial use under CC BY 3.0, provided the credit link is retained. That is the publisher’s licensing statement. Check the current license and attribution requirements on the download page before incorporating the code into a project.
When should you choose a different multiselect pattern?
The right control depends on the number of choices and how people need to navigate them. Colorlib recommends simpler checkboxes or tiles for lists of about seven choices or fewer, live search for long lists, and grouped options for very long lists. These are editorial recommendations, not independently measured thresholds.

- Small scallop recommended for borders ranging from 2in – 5in in width.
- Medium scallop recommended for borders ranging from 4in – 8in in width.
- Small lists: Checkboxes or tiles can make the available choices visible without requiring a dropdown.
- Long lists: Search can reduce scrolling; Colorlib points to V10–V13 and V20 as examples with live search.
- Grouped choices: Categories can help organize extensive lists; the publisher identifies V08 and V18 as grouped examples.
- Selection limits: State any limit before users start selecting. Colorlib identifies V17 and V18 as examples with selection limits.
- Keyboard and screen-reader use: Check that users can open the control, navigate options, select and remove values, and understand the current selections without a mouse.
- Phones and touch: Check that the field, options, and removal actions are practical to tap on a small screen.
Before adopting V07, test its actual keyboard, assistive-technology, and touch behavior in the context where you plan to use it. The publisher’s overview recommends checking these areas but does not report independent testing results.
