What Garment Plus does
On the Samsung top-load washer models covered by the manuals below, Garment Plus is a function for adding or removing laundry during a wash. It is not a separate wash cycle. The feature is available only while its indicator is lit; the manuals do not establish that it remains available throughout every cycle or on every Samsung washer.

Samsung’s WA48J7700AW/AA manual says laundry can be added or removed after the wash starts “as long as the Garment Plus indicator is on.” It explains that Start/Pause unlocks the lid, and that closing the lid and pressing the button again continues the cycle.
How to add or remove laundry
- Check the control panel. Continue only if the Garment Plus indicator is lit.
- If Child Lock is active, deactivate it before proceeding.
- Press Start/Pause and wait for the lid to unlock.
- Open the lid and add or remove laundry.
- Close the lid securely, then press Start/Pause again to continue the cycle.
The button labels and behavior can vary by model. Use the instructions for the full model code printed on your washer, rather than assuming these steps apply to every Samsung machine.

Do not force the lid. Confirm that the Garment Plus indicator is lit and that Child Lock is off, then follow the manual for your exact model. If it remains locked, consult that manual or contact Samsung support; the documented instructions alone do not establish the cause of a lid that will not unlock.
