In AION 2, selling an item to an NPC, deleting it, and extracting it (often called dismantling) are separate actions with different consequences. The key caution: under NCSoft’s AION 2 Global Operation Policy, items sold to free inventory space cannot be restored. Other mistaken sales, deletions, or extractions may qualify for limited restoration, but it is not guaranteed.
How the three item actions differ
| Action | What it does | Restoration under the AION 2 Global Operation Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Sell | Transfers the item to an NPC shop. | A mistaken NPC-shop sale may be restorable once per account per year. Sale proceeds are recovered as part of restoration. Items sold to free inventory space cannot be restored. NCSoft’s policy |
| Delete or destroy | Removes the item through a deletion action rather than an NPC sale. | A mistakenly deleted item may be restorable once per account per year. NCSoft’s policy |
| Extract or dismantle | Uses the game’s separate extraction action. The exact result depends on the item and what the current client displays. | A mistakenly extracted item may be restorable once per account per year, except wings and Arcana, whose extraction cannot be restored under this policy. NCSoft’s policy |
“Once per account per year” is a limit in the cited Global policy, not a promise that every request will be approved. Restoration is subject to the policy’s general rules, available records, and time limits. For losses covered by its general restoration process, the policy calls for a customer-center request within 15 days. It also distinguishes ordinary losses caused by a player’s actions or normal service use from technical errors, and says normal shop sales are not generally restored outside the specific restoration schedule. Read the Global Operation Policy.
What to check before disposing of an item
There is no established universal eligibility rule covering every item, so inspect the particular item and available actions in your current client rather than assuming every piece of gear can be treated the same way. Independent AION 2 guides recommend checking restrictions and possible uses first; these are practical checks, not official rules that apply to every item.

- Consider whether it may still help with combat, upgrades, crafting, collections, appearance, supplies, or another character. Which uses apply depends on the item.
- If you do not recognize an item or it may be rare or useful, keep or store it temporarily if the client allows that, until you understand its role.
- Before confirming, verify the selected item and action. Do not rely on a future support request to reverse a decision.
Guides offering these checks include an AION 2 inventory guide and a guide to evaluating older gear; neither establishes official eligibility or a complete list of extraction outcomes.

What extraction does—and what is not established
Extraction is a distinct game action, not the same thing as selling an item to a shop or deleting it. The Global Operation Policy identifies extraction as a separate category for possible restoration, but it does not list every item that can be extracted or what each extraction yields. A Portuguese-language guide describes extraction as an equipment action, but its detailed interface instructions and rewards are not established as universal mechanics. See that guide.
Check the live client for the selected item’s extraction option and any displayed cost or result. Do not infer a reward, cost, or eligibility from another item or from a guide that may describe a different version or region.

Check the policy for your region before relying on restoration
The restoration terms above come from NCSoft’s AION 2 Global Operation Policy. The available information does not establish that every region has identical rules, or that the policy will remain unchanged. Check the policy applicable to your account and the current client before taking an irreversible action.
