In an early OpenAI Sora sample showing a woman walking through a neon-lit Tokyo street, her legs and feet appear to switch places twice, at about 16 and 31 seconds. That is the anomaly Victor Tangermann reported in Futurism on February 17, 2024. The observation is attributed to Tangermann; the frames have not been independently verified here.
Which Sora video is this?
It is a one-minute sample that OpenAI featured on its website during Sora’s early demonstration week in February 2024. The clip follows a stylish woman walking along a Tokyo street lined with warm neon lighting and animated signage. It is a specific early demonstration, not a generic example of Sora video output.
The prompt excerpt reproduced with a February 16, 2024 post attributed to Kezhal Dashti begins, “A stylish woman walks down a Tokyo street filled with warm glowing…” The excerpt is truncated, so it should not be treated as the full prompt.

Tangermann’s report says that around 16 seconds and again around 31 seconds, the woman’s legs and feet appear to switch places. The article describes the visual effect but does not provide a frame-by-frame analysis, so the timestamps are approximate points in the clip rather than independently confirmed measurements.

What can viewers conclude from the clip?
The sample combines polished visual details—neon, signage, and a tracked walking shot—with the anatomical continuity error reported by Futurism. The report establishes what its writer observed in this one early demonstration; it does not establish that the same issue occurs in every Sora video or explain why the apparent switch happens.
The report dates from February 2024 and concerns an early Sora demonstration. It does not establish Sora’s current availability or capabilities.
