Delisting a PS5 game means it is no longer offered for new purchase through that PlayStation Store listing. It does not, by itself, establish that existing buyers lose access to the game or previously purchased add-ons. Multiplayer and in-game purchases are separate questions: they can depend on the game’s servers, online services, and title-specific notices.
Can you still download a delisted PS5 game you bought?
PlayStation’s download instructions direct players to Game Library > Purchased to find and download games associated with their account. For a purchased add-on, select the game in the library and use its Add-Ons section to download it. See PlayStation’s instructions for downloading games and add-ons.

This is the official download route for purchases; it is not a universal promise that every delisted PS5 game will remain available to download indefinitely. A separate PlayStation statement that previously purchased content would remain downloadable “for the foreseeable future” appears in a notice about the planned PS3 and PS Vita Store closure. That language is scoped to that notice and should not be treated as a general PS5 guarantee. Read PlayStation’s important notices for the applicable context.

What happens to DLC you already purchased?
Previously purchased add-ons may be available through the game’s Add-Ons section in your Purchased library. Whether a particular add-on can still be downloaded or used depends on the title and its available services; delisting alone does not answer that question. Check the game’s PlayStation Store listing, support information, and any publisher notice for restrictions or changes.

- BECOME A FEARSOME PIRATE- Strike fear in your foes as you board and sink enemy vessels as Edward Kenway, captain of the Jackdaw. Whether blending into crowds or leading daring assaults, switch between silent takedowns and fierce brawls as you effortlessly wield swords, pistols, and the Hidden Blade. With a cast of historical pirate legends at your side, defy empires amidst the age-old conflict opposing Assassins and Templars.
- A CLASSIC REBUILT FOR AN ENHANCED EXPERIENCE- Combat has been rebuilt for more dynamic encounters, emphasizing parries and takedowns, while stealth and parkour have been improved for smoother escapes and assassinations. Continuously upgrade the Jackdaw to face powerful enemy ships with enhanced naval mechanics featuring new alternate fire modes. Quality-of-life additions also address previous pain points, ensuring your experience is improved.
- THE CARIBBEAN LIKE NEVER BEFORE- Whether you’re sailing the open seas or journeying across untamed lands, discover a seamless open world built with the latest Anvil engine. Take in sweeping vistas as you brave stormy waters, dive into underwater shipwrecks, or push through dense tropical jungles. Enhanced by features such as Dolby Atmos and ray tracing, every scene feels more immersive, bringing the world’s beauty to life.
- EXPANDING EDWARD’S ADVENTURE- Building on top of the original story, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced introduces exclusive new content. Familiar faces will return, with new storylines dedicated to fan-favorite characters such as Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet. Unexpected allies will also cross your path, as three officers join you on your journey as part of the main narrative. More surprises await, such as new sea shanties, pets, a photo mode, and more.
Does delisting shut down multiplayer?
No automatic connection follows: taking a game off sale and shutting down its online services are distinct events. A game can be delisted while online features remain available, or its services can be discontinued separately. PlayStation publishes title-specific online service notices; check the exact game and region rather than inferring server status from whether it is still for sale. Its online game service notices illustrate this distinction. For example, the notice for Destruction AllStars states that the game was removed from sale on May 26, 2026, while addressing service and online-feature availability separately.
Even while a game’s servers are active, online multiplayer may require an active PlayStation Plus subscription. Sony’s March 2026 English UK terms state this as the general condition unless a particular game says otherwise; it is separate from both delisting and server availability. See the March 2026 SIEE Terms of Service and User Agreement.

Can you still make in-game purchases or use virtual currency?
There is no single outcome for every delisted game. A title may stop selling in-game currency or items, and the ability to use purchased items or currency may depend on its online services. The Destruction AllStars service notice, for instance, discusses removal of its virtual currency from sale separately from service availability. Read the specific game notice and publisher information to determine what remains for sale, redeemable, or usable. Do not assume that a purchase option remains open—or that a purchased virtual balance will stay usable—without a title-specific statement.

How to check a particular game
- Check sale status and date: Look for the game’s PlayStation Store listing and any official notice identifying when it was removed from sale.
- Check your entitlements: On PS5, open Game Library > Purchased, select the game, and check its Add-Ons section for purchased content.
- Look for download or entitlement limits: Read the game’s support and publisher notices; a delisting does not establish that every entitlement remains downloadable indefinitely.
- Check server status and affected features: Find the title-specific online service notice and note any shutdown date, affected modes, or availability changes.
- Verify currency and purchases: Check whether the notice says virtual currency or items are no longer for sale, and whether existing balances or purchases remain usable.
- Confirm multiplayer requirements: Check whether the game requires PlayStation Plus, while treating that requirement separately from the game’s server status.
