The box contents depend on which Ring doorbell you bought. “Ring Video Doorbell” is a broad name that covers battery and wired models across several generations, and each one ships with a different set of parts. The fastest way to get an accurate list is to match the model name printed on the box or in the product listing, then check the contents for that model.
Why the answer depends on the model
Ring does not use one standard package. Battery models and wired models have different included items, and newer models can differ from older ones. Ring’s manual directory lists battery and wired versions separately, including the Battery Doorbell 2K, Battery Doorbell 2K Plus, Video Doorbell Wired, and Wired Doorbell 2K. Product names also change over time, so compare the model name on your package with the listing rather than relying on the generic product name.
Battery Doorbell 2K Plus
According to Ring’s current product FAQ for the Battery Doorbell 2K Plus, the box includes everything needed for installation:
- The doorbell unit with its Quick Release Battery
- Mounting bracket and hardware
- A Micro-USB charging cable
- A corner kit
- Installation tools and screws
- A quick start guide
- A security sticker
Because the battery and charging cable are listed in the box, you do not need to buy them separately for this model. The corner kit is also listed as included.

Wired Video Doorbell (2nd Gen)
Ring’s current wired product FAQ says the Wired Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) comes with the doorbell, a mounting bracket, installation hardware, and setup instructions. The list does not include a power adapter or transformer. Ring states that compatible plug-in adapters and DIN rail transformers are sold separately, so confirm that your existing doorbell wiring can power the unit before you order.
Older Video Doorbell 2 contents
The original Video Doorbell 2 came with a much longer list of installation parts. If your box is from this older model, expect items that the current wired listing does not mention, such as a drill bit, diode, wire extensions, wire nuts, and two interchangeable faceplates. The list below is from Ring’s listing for that model.

How to check your model before you install
- Find the model name printed on the front or side of the box, or on the packing label.
- Compare that name with the product listing or Ring’s manual directory.
- Check the included-items list for that exact model against the parts in your box.
- If you have a wired model, check your existing doorbell wiring and the power requirements for that model before you buy a plug-in adapter or DIN rail transformer.
- If a part is missing, contact Ring support with the model name and the contents you received.
Ring does not print the full user manual in the box. Download the manual for your model from Ring’s manual directory instead.
