The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is a 2023 upper-midrange smartphone platform with a 4 nm design, an eight-core CPU, LPDDR5 memory support, UFS 3.1 storage, and an X62 5G modem. Its benchmark results can approach some older flagship chips in CPU tests, but scores vary by phone, software, cooling, and benchmark version; there is no single score that applies to every device.
Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 specifications
Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 on March 17, 2023, describing it at launch as the most powerful Snapdragon 7-series platform. The product brief lists these platform capabilities; a phone maker’s implementation determines which options and maximum configurations appear in a particular handset.

At launch, Qualcomm claimed the 7+ Gen 2 delivered over 50% better CPU performance, twice the GPU performance, and up to 13% better system power efficiency than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. These are Qualcomm’s comparisons against that predecessor, not independent results or guarantees for every phone. Device cooling, firmware, memory configuration, workload, and other design choices affect real outcomes. Qualcomm’s March 17, 2023 launch announcement.

How fast is it in independent benchmarks?
CPU performance
Android Authority tested a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 reference handset ahead of commercial launch. In its selected comparisons, CPU performance was around Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 territory and approached some Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phones. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 retained an advantage in multi-core testing. These comparisons describe that reference device and test setup, not every retail phone with the chip.
Graphics and sustained load
The GPU results were less uniformly favorable: in Android Authority’s 3DMark Wild Life test, the reference handset scored below Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones, although it performed well against several older or mid-tier devices in that comparison set. Its reported 99.76% stability in the 3DMark Wild Life stress test is also specific to that reference handset and test. It should not be treated as a guaranteed stability figure for a phone with different cooling or software. Android Authority’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 benchmark results.
Why published scores differ
Notebookcheck’s database includes a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 entry with Geekbench 6.0 scores of 1,455 single-core and 4,224 multi-core. A separately listed POCO F5 with 8 GB of RAM scored 1,687 single-core and 4,378 multi-core in Geekbench 6.7.1; the same POCO F5 listing shows 1,115,567 in AnTuTu v9. Because the Geekbench results come from different versions and device configurations, they are not an apples-to-apples comparison. Treat each as a result for its named device and test, not as a fixed score for the chipset. Notebookcheck’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 benchmark database.
Is the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 good for gaming?
It has capable Adreno graphics and can perform strongly in some comparisons, but the chipset name alone cannot predict how a particular game will run over a long session. The independent 3DMark comparison found a gap to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones, while the stress test result applied only to the reference handset. A phone’s cooling, display resolution, software, and game settings all affect frame rates and sustained performance.
When choosing between phones, look for tests of the exact model you are considering. Prioritize sustained gaming or thermal tests and the games you actually play rather than relying on one peak benchmark score.
Which phones use Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2?
The POCO F5 is a documented example: Notebookcheck lists a version with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and 8 GB of RAM in its benchmark database. Qualcomm’s March 2023 launch release said commercial devices were expected from Redmi and realme that month, but that announcement does not establish current stock or a complete present-day list. Phone availability depends on region and date, so check the exact model and configuration offered in your market.
How to compare phones with this chipset
Compare complete phones rather than treating the processor as the whole product. For useful benchmark comparisons, make sure the devices ran the same benchmark version and note the exact model and configuration. Then assess:
- CPU: Same-version single-core and multi-core results for the workloads you care about.
- Graphics: Game tests or graphics benchmarks relevant to your games and settings.
- Sustained performance: Longer-load tests that reveal heat and throttling behavior.
- Battery: Phone-level battery tests, since capacity and power tuning differ by device.
- Other hardware: RAM and storage configuration, screen, camera, supported cellular bands, and software support.
- Market details: The exact regional model, current availability, and price.
The available benchmark examples establish device-specific results, not a universal score, current market-wide phone list, or current pricing and stock.
