If you want the smallest conventional Samsung Galaxy phone in the current base-flagship comparison, choose the Galaxy S25: it is shorter, narrower and lighter than the Galaxy S26. If you mean a phone that takes up less height in a pocket when stored, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE folds slightly shorter and narrower than the Z Flip7. The Flip7, however, is thinner when closed. Which is smallest depends on whether you mean an unfolded phone or its folded footprint.

These are Samsung-published specifications. The S25 and S26 measurements come from Samsung Ireland’s comparison, while Samsung’s US newsroom provides the S26 display and weight specifications; Samsung Electronics’ 2026 interim report lists the Flip7 family measurements. Smallest conventional Galaxy phone: Galaxy S25
Among the two base Galaxy S models compared here, the S25 has the smaller body. Samsung lists it at 146.9 × 70.5 × 7.2 mm and 162 g, versus 149.6 × 71.7 × 7.2 mm and 167 g for the S26. That makes the S25 2.7 mm shorter, 1.2 mm narrower and 5 g lighter, with the same listed thickness.

The S26 is the newer base flagship and has a slightly larger display in this pair: 6.3 inches versus 6.2 inches for the S25. Smallest folded Galaxy phone: Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
If pocket height while carrying the phone closed matters most, the Z Flip7 FE measures 85.1 mm tall and 71.9 mm wide when folded. The Z Flip7 measures 85.5 mm tall and 75.2 mm wide folded, so the FE is 0.4 mm shorter and 3.3 mm narrower. The trade-off is thickness: the FE is 14.9 mm thick closed, compared with 13.7 mm for the Flip7.
These folded measurements describe storage, not the size of the phone in use. Opened, the FE measures 165.1 × 71.9 × 6.9 mm and the Flip7 166.7 × 75.2 × 6.5 mm. Their main displays are 6.7 and 6.9 inches, respectively. A Flip can fit a shorter pocket footprint when closed, but it is not a smaller open phone than the S25.

Which compact Samsung should you choose?
- For the smallest conventional body in this comparison: choose the Galaxy S25. It is smaller and lighter than the S26 without being thicker.
- For a newer base flagship and a larger display in this pair: consider the Galaxy S26, accepting its slightly larger body.
- For a short folded shape: compare the Z Flip7 FE and Z Flip7. The FE is marginally shorter and narrower closed; the Flip7 is thinner and has the larger cover display.
Samsung’s S26 series went on sale in March 2026, but that does not establish current stock for every older model, country or retailer. Check local listings for availability and whether a handset is new, refurbished or used. The measurements above do not establish a universal ranking of every older Galaxy model still offered by sellers.
