Yes, using a macro in AION2 can put your account at risk, including a permanent ban. NC Corporation’s English Operation Policy lists an “Integrated Account Ban” for use of unauthorized programs. It defines the category by what a program, device, or equipment does—not by a published list of banned brands or peripherals.
The clearest concern is automation: NCSOFT has specifically identified automated gathering macros as an anti-bot target. But the public policy does not say that every macro is automatically bannable, nor does it identify a particular mouse, keyboard, or remapping feature as approved. The exact setup matters, and the cited public sources do not classify every possible configuration.
What does AION2’s policy prohibit?
The AION2 Operation Policy defines unauthorized-program use as: “Using computer programs, devices, or equipment that circumvent technical protection measures or interfere with normal operations (e.g., programs enabling actions impossible for regular users).” That definition focuses on the function and effect of a setup, not simply whether it is called a macro.

Can a macro lead to a permanent ban?
Yes. The policy defines an Integrated Account Ban as a permanent restriction on access to all games and related services provided by the company. That is broader than a “Permanent Game Ban,” which applies to AION2 and related services, and different from a temporary game ban, which applies for a specified period.
The first-offense entry is not a guarantee that every case receives an identical sanction. The policy says NC may consider the circumstances and impact on the service, impose a lesser sanction, apply cumulative penalties for simultaneous violations, or increase penalties based on repeated offenses or severity. It also allows game-use data resets or restrictions on content or connection environments for benefits associated with unauthorized-program violations.

Why are macros an active enforcement concern?
NCSOFT has publicly described measures against botting and unauthorized automation. In its January 28, 2026 announcement, it said it raised the minimum level for gathering participation to level 45 “to further limit the use of automated gathering macros.” That level threshold is a dated update detail, not confirmation that the same requirement remains in effect today.

The company said it identified repeated use of unauthorized programs, as well as account sales and game-currency distribution. Those are NCSOFT’s statements about its complaint, not independently adjudicated findings.

That December 2025 announcement also reported that 72,621 accounts had been restricted over 23 enforcement rounds since AION2’s launch. This was a combined total for operation-policy violations, not a macro-only count, and it is not a current figure.

The policy and announcements support several useful questions, but they do not amount to an official compliance checklist. These distinctions can help identify risk; none guarantees that a configuration is permitted.

A macro-capable mouse or keyboard is not, by itself, proof that a particular configuration is allowed or banned. The cited public materials do not give a complete classification of native game features, one-to-one remapping, device-side macros, or third-party scripting tools.

What should you do if you are unsure?
- Disable features that repeat or automate game inputs. This is the most cautious approach under a policy that covers unauthorized automation and names automated gathering macros as an enforcement target.
- Check the current Operation Policy. Read the AION2 policy rather than relying on older forum posts or anecdotes about a device brand.
- Ask AION2 support about the exact setup. Describe the device, software, and configuration. Asking is cautious practical advice, not a guarantee that support approval—or changing a setting—will prevent enforcement.
- Do not rely on reports that a configuration has gone unpunished. The public sources provide no safe list, case-specific ruling for every peripheral, or reliable probability of detection or a ban.
