In God of War (2018), the glowing green pickups players sometimes call “green balls” are Healthstones. They restore Kratos’s health. The franchise includes multiple games, so the pickup and control details below apply to the 2018 game unless a section specifically says God of War Ragnarök.
What do the green Healthstones do?
Green Healthstones replenish Kratos’s health. They are one of several colored pickups: a GameFAQs walkthrough recommends saving a Healthstone until health is low when practical, so more of its healing is useful. Treat that as a situational tip, not a strict rule; no exact healing amount or threshold is established by the cited guide.

How do you pick up a green healthstone?
A God of War (2018) gameplay guide describes approaching the green orb and pressing Circle when the prompt appears. This is that guide’s instruction for the 2018 game, not a universal control mapping; controls can differ by game or player setup.
How do green, orange, and white stones differ?

How does pickup work in God of War Ragnarök?
God of War Ragnarök has Auto Pick-Up settings; do not assume these settings apply to the 2018 game. PlayStation lists four options:
