Accenture’s FY2026 results point to continued growth in global demand for consulting, technology and managed services, but they do not forecast any Indian IT firm’s revenue or earnings. The useful signal is directional: compare Accenture’s revenue, bookings and outlook with each Indian provider’s own results, contract wins, guidance, margins and cash flow—after aligning reporting periods, business scope and currency basis.

What Accenture reported for FY2026

Accenture reported its fourth-quarter and full-year results on October 1, 2026, for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2026. Revenue and bookings offer different clues: revenue records services delivered, while bookings indicate contracted work that may convert into revenue over time.

Metric Q4 FY2026 Full-year FY2026
Revenue $18.68 billion; up 6% in U.S. dollars and 7% in local currency $74.2 billion; up 6% in U.S. dollars and 5% in local currency
New bookings $22.17 billion; up 4% in U.S. dollars and 5% in local currency; book-to-bill of 1.2 $84.5 billion
Operating margin 15.3% GAAP 15.4% GAAP; 15.8% adjusted
Diluted EPS not stated in the cited Accenture FY2026 results $13.56 GAAP; $13.97 adjusted
Free cash flow not stated in the cited Accenture FY2026 results $11.6 billion
FY2027 revenue outlook 3% to 6% growth in local currency for the full fiscal year

Accenture Chair and CEO Julie Sweet described the year as broad-based growth, saying the company exceeded its Q4 revenue guidance range, grew adjusted EPS 8%, returned a record $11.5 billion to shareholders and reached 141 quarterly client bookings of $100 million or more. Those are management’s characterization and reported figures, not independent analysis. Accenture’s FY2026 results release.

Why the results are a signal, not a forecast

Accenture’s performance can help investors assess broad enterprise spending on consulting, technology and managed services because it serves a large global client base. It cannot establish how much work an Indian provider will win, when a contract will start, or how quickly that provider will recognize revenue.

Companies differ in consulting versus managed-services exposure, customer concentration, industry and regional mix, outsourcing exposure, delivery footprint, pricing, utilization, acquisitions and currency translation. Contract bookings also do not equal revenue in the same period: a signed deal may be delivered and recognized over a later period. Similarly, guidance is management’s expectation at the time it is issued, not realized performance.

Accenture’s FY2027 outlook of 3% to 6% local-currency growth is therefore a context point, not a benchmark to apply directly to an Indian firm. It covers Accenture’s full fiscal year and company-wide business; peers may report a different period or only a segment such as IT services.

What recent Indian IT results show

The cited Q1 FY2027 results illustrate why the global read-through needs company-level verification. TCS and Wipro reported different growth measures and deal metrics for the quarter ended June 30, 2026; their numbers are company disclosures, not an industry-wide statistic.

Company and scope Q1 FY2027 reported indicators What to keep in view
TCS, total company Revenue of $7.624 billion, up 2.7% year over year in U.S. dollars and flat sequentially in U.S. dollars. Constant-currency growth was 0.4% sequentially and 3.2% year over year. Operating margin was 24.0%; total contract value was $9.5 billion; annualized AI revenue was $2.6 billion. Its reported mix included North America at 48.3% and India at 6.2%. Geography and business mix affect how closely a global peer’s results may map to TCS.
Wipro, IT services segment Revenue of $2.6145 billion, up 1.0% year over year in U.S. dollars. On Wipro’s non-GAAP constant-currency basis, revenue rose 0.9% year over year and fell 1.2% sequentially. IT services operating margin was 16.0%; large deal bookings were $1.626 billion. For the quarter ending September 30, 2026, Wipro guided to IT services revenue of $2.574 billion to $2.627 billion, equivalent to sequential constant-currency guidance of -1.5% to +0.5%. This is a quarterly segment outlook, unlike Accenture’s full-year company-wide outlook.

A practical checklist for comparing Accenture with an Indian provider

  • Align the reporting period. Accenture’s FY2026 ended August 31, while the cited TCS and Wipro quarters ended June 30. Compare like periods where possible, or state the mismatch.
  • Match the currency measure. Keep U.S.-dollar, local-currency and constant-currency growth separate, and identify which one each company reports.
  • Match business scope. Do not compare Accenture’s total-company revenue with a peer’s IT-services segment without stating the difference.
  • Read demand indicators alongside revenue. Examine bookings or contract value, but do not treat them as revenue already earned.
  • Check outlook against the right period. Compare a full-year outlook with a full-year outlook, or a quarterly segment guide with the equivalent period and segment—not mechanically across scopes.
  • Include profitability and cash conversion. Identify GAAP versus adjusted or non-GAAP margins and earnings; review cash flow as well as sales growth.
  • Inspect exposure and mix. Geography, industries, client concentration and service mix can make providers respond differently to the same global demand conditions.

What could change the picture

Accenture identifies volatile economic and geopolitical conditions, client demand, changing technology and AI, talent matching, competition, pricing, delivery efficiency and foreign exchange as factors that may affect performance. These risks matter to the read-through because an encouraging bookings or revenue signal can still be offset by delayed projects, pricing pressure, execution issues or currency movements. Accenture’s FY2026 filing discusses these and other factors; guidance remains an expectation rather than a guarantee.
