The Westinghouse WHI954BA is a 90 cm, five-zone induction cooktop with practical pause, keep-warm and timer functions. Its published specifications make it possible to assess whether it fits a kitchen, but accessible independent test scores are not available here—so its cooking speed, noise and heat-control performance cannot be verified from the evidence reviewed.
What the WHI954BA offers
Westinghouse lists five induction zones, front touch controls and a set of convenience and safety features. The pause function changes operating zones to Keep Warm mode; the product page explains: “Just press the Pause icon on your cooktop and all operating zones will drop to a Keep Warm mode.” The programmable countdown timer runs for up to 99 minutes and switches the selected zone off when the countdown ends.
- Five induction cooking zones and front touch controls
- Pause and Keep Warm functions
- Programmable 99-minute countdown timer with zone shut-off
- Child lock, safety cut-off and residual-heat indicators
- Sound-off function
These are listed features, not evidence of how well the cooktop performs in independent cooking tests. Westinghouse also makes broad promotional claims about induction speed and efficiency; they should not be read as measured WHI954BA results.

Westinghouse specifies overall dimensions of 910 mm wide, 520 mm deep and 46 mm high, with a required cut-out of 880 × 490 mm. CHOICE lists the same dimensions. Confirm the cabinet, bench opening and clearances against the installation documentation and your kitchen before purchasing; the overall width is not the same as the cut-out width.
#1 Best Overall

- Durable and Even Heating: This reinforced die-cast aluminum cookware set is built to last. It ensures rapid, uniform heat distribution with no hot spots — perfect for consistent boiling, simmering, and reheating
- Silicone Sealed Glass Lid: Lids of the pots have silicone edge that creates a tight seal to lock in moisture and flavor, allows you to monitor cooking without lifting, and protects against chipping for added safety
- Cleanup Recommended: Always hand-wash your cookware with a neutral dish soap to effectively prevent black residue from forming on the base.
- Set Includes: 8'' frying pan, 9.5'' frying pan, 11'' frying pan, 2.5-qt saucepan with lid, 5.5-qt stockpot with lid, 5-qt sauté pan with lid, 6*pan protectors, 5*utensils.
CHOICE lists usable pan diameters for the five zones as follows. These figures describe its published zone guidance, not a cooking-performance rating:
| Number of zones | Usable pan diameter listed by CHOICE |
|---|---|
| Two | 12.5–14 cm |
| Two | 14.5–18 cm |
| One | 18–21 cm |
Check that the base diameter of the pans you use most often falls within the applicable ranges. A larger cooktop and five zones do not guarantee that every combination of large pans will fit comfortably at once.

Electrical installation and cookware
The published connected load is 10.2 kW, and the cooktop is hardwired rather than plugged into a standard outlet. Appliances Online says installation requires a qualified electrician. Have a qualified professional assess the available electrical supply and installation requirements for your home before committing to the appliance.
Induction requires compatible cookware. Appliances Online says pans must be made from magnetic material. If unsure about a pan, check its manufacturer’s induction-compatibility information before relying on it for this cooktop.

Verdict
The WHI954BA’s published specifications make it a plausible fit for someone seeking a wide, five-zone induction cooktop, provided the bench dimensions, cookware and hardwired electrical requirements work for the kitchen. The pause, keep-warm and automatic timer features are clearly described. However, the available evidence does not establish independent cooking performance, and the model is listed as discontinued by CHOICE; confirm current availability and installation suitability before making a decision.
