Mobvoi’s Wear OS 4 update was for the TicWatch Pro 5 and TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro, both of which launched with Wear OS 3.5. The TicWatch Atlas is a separate case: it launched with Wear OS 4 already installed. No Wear OS 4 rollout has been confirmed for the TicWatch Pro 3, Pro 3 Ultra GPS, E3, or other older models.
The update is now historical news, not a new 2026 rollout. It brought useful transfer, app, and fitness changes to a limited set of Mobvoi watches, but it does not guarantee future Wear OS upgrades.
Which TicWatch models have Wear OS 4?
| Model | Wear OS 4 status | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| TicWatch Pro 5 | Confirmed update | Mobvoi announced a phased upgrade from Wear OS 3.5 on September 3, 2024. Mobvoi’s announcement |
| TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro | Confirmed update | Also launched with Wear OS 3.5 and was included in the announced upgrade. Tech Advisor’s Enduro coverage |
| TicWatch Atlas | Shipped with Wear OS 4 | It did not receive the same upgrade from Wear OS 3.5; Mobvoi lists Wear OS 4 on its Atlas product page. |
| TicWatch Pro 3, Pro 3 Ultra GPS, E3, and other older models | Not confirmed | Mobvoi did not announce them as recipients. The absence of a confirmed rollout is not proof that an update is impossible. 9to5Google’s announcement coverage |
That distinction matters: reports referring broadly to “TicWatch” updates can make the eligible group sound larger than it was. The confirmed upgrade covered the Pro 5 series models named above, not the whole product line.

Wear OS 4 first appeared on Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6 generation in August 2023. The Pro 5 Enduro, by contrast, launched in May 2024 with Wear OS 3.5. Mobvoi announced the Pro 5 and Enduro upgrade on September 3, 2024, saying it would roll out in phases; contemporary reporting said Mobvoi expected worldwide delivery to finish later that month. The delay was notable because Wear OS 4 had already reached competing watches before the Enduro arrived. The upgrade improved Mobvoi’s position, but it did not show that the company had established a faster or dependable long-term update schedule. Later coverage questioned Mobvoi’s continued commitment to TicWatch; that is commentary on its update record and product availability, not an official announcement that the brand has been abandoned. What Wear OS 4 changed on the Pro 5 series
The upgrade combined Wear OS platform changes with Mobvoi-specific additions. The exact experience can vary by model, region, phone compatibility, and app version; some features depend on separate app updates.
Backup, restore, and phone transfers
Wear OS 4 added backup and restore support intended to make it easier to move to another watch or phone. It is a useful safeguard, not a promise of a perfect copy: settings, watch faces, permissions, apps, and health records may not all transfer exactly.

Google and third-party apps
The update brought Gmail and Google Calendar apps, improved smart-home integration, and WhatsApp calling support. Spotify and Peloton also received improvements. Availability and specific functions can depend on app releases, region, and the paired phone.
Fitness and health tools
Mobvoi’s changes included TicMotion improvements, such as cycling detection and more frequent data detection, along with a consolidated TicHealth experience drawing on TicPulse, TicOxygen, TicZen, and TicSleep. Reporting also noted additional workouts and workout-list customization, particularly on the Pro 5, plus sharing real-time exercise data with third-party services including Strava. These features should not be treated as medical diagnoses or guarantees of measurement accuracy.
Stability and bug fixes
The rollout included general stability improvements and bug fixes. Wear OS 4 was not presented as a wholesale visual redesign, and the available reporting does not establish that it fixes battery life. Runtime still depends on settings, display mode, GPS, workouts, and app activity.

How to check for and install the update
- Prepare the watch: charge it adequately and connect it to a stable Wi-Fi network. Set aside uninterrupted time for downloading, installation, and restart.
- Check the watch’s settings: open Settings, then look under System or System updates for a software update. Menu wording can differ by firmware; if you cannot find it, use Settings search for update.
- Install when ready: follow the on-screen prompts and keep the watch charged and connected until it restarts.
- Verify the version: after reboot, open the watch’s software information screen and confirm the Wear OS version shown there.
- Refresh apps: update Mobvoi’s companion app on the phone and check Google Play on the watch for app updates or prompts.
Back up important information before a major upgrade if a backup option is available. Some watch faces or apps may need reinstalling or reconfiguration. A reset may be needed in a pairing or migration problem, but do not factory-reset simply to force an update unless Mobvoi support advises it.

- Confirm the watch is a TicWatch Pro 5 or Pro 5 Enduro; the model name matters.
- Restart both the watch and the paired phone, reconnect to stable Wi-Fi, and check again.
- Make sure the watch has enough battery for installation and that Mobvoi’s companion app and Google Play components are current.
- Remember that the rollout was phased, so availability did not necessarily arrive for every user at once.
- If the watch is imported or uses a China-market app or firmware variant, regional availability may differ.
- Do not factory-reset as a first troubleshooting step. Back up important data before any reset, and contact Mobvoi support if an eligible watch remains unable to update.
What older TicWatch owners should do
If you own a Pro 3, Pro 3 Ultra GPS, E3, or another earlier model, there is no verified Wear OS 4 rollout for it in the available announcements. Do not assume the Pro 5 update applies to your watch. Check Mobvoi’s support information for your exact model and firmware rather than installing unofficial software or resetting the device in an attempt to force an upgrade.

Wear OS 4 makes the Pro 5 and Enduro more capable than their launch software suggested, but the decision now turns on battery endurance, compatibility, condition, and your tolerance for uncertainty about future updates. The Enduro’s reported launch price of $349.99 in the US and £329.99 in the UK was for May 2024, not a current 2026 price. Tech Advisor

Consider an Atlas if endurance and ruggedness lead
Mobvoi lists the Atlas with Wear OS 4, Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a 628mAh typical battery. The company estimates up to 90 hours in Smart Mode and up to 45 days in Essential Mode; those are mode-dependent manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed everyday runtimes. Mobvoi also specifies Android 8.0 or later, excluding Android Go and phones without Google Play Store. Google Wallet and other services can be subject to country and device restrictions. Mobvoi Atlas specifications
The Atlas is a more natural fit for Android users who want a large rugged watch and value battery life, GPS, a barometer, and a compass. It is a poor fit for iPhone users, anyone requiring LTE independence, buyers who prefer a smaller watch, or people prioritizing assured access to future Wear OS versions. Mobvoi does not establish medical-grade health measurements on the product page.

Discounted or used Pro 5-series watches may suit someone who wants the dual-display battery approach and current Wear OS 4 functions. Before buying, verify the exact model and installed Wear OS version, assess battery health, confirm Android compatibility meets your needs, and choose a seller with a meaningful return policy. The Enduro review reports Android-only compatibility and no LTE; those are important limits if you expect phone-free connectivity or iPhone pairing. Tech Advisor’s Enduro review
Choose an alternative based on what matters most
- OnePlus Watch 2: a close endurance-oriented Wear OS comparison; it launched with Wear OS 4. See OnePlus.
- Google Pixel Watch: a stronger option if first-party Google integration and update priority matter more than multi-day battery life. See Google Store.
- Samsung Galaxy Watch: worth considering for Samsung users prioritizing health and ecosystem integration and an established update path, with a different battery-life trade-off. See Samsung Watches.
- Garmin: a better fit for dedicated endurance training and long battery life, but it is not a substitute for Wear OS if Google Play apps are essential. See Garmin.
None is a universal winner: weigh software support, battery endurance, health features, LTE, and app compatibility against your own priorities.
