Cyber Monday 2024 set a U.S. online-spending record in Adobe Analytics’ reporting, with shoppers spending $13.3 billion. But it is no longer the all-time record: Adobe later reported $14.25 billion for Cyber Monday 2025. Adobe’s forecast for 2026 is more than $15 billion, but that is a projection, not a completed result.
What did Cyber Monday 2024 make history for?
Adobe Analytics reported that U.S. consumers spent $13.3 billion online on Cyber Monday, December 2, 2024. At the time, Adobe described it as the biggest online shopping day of all time. The figure was 7.3% higher than Cyber Monday 2023 and exceeded Adobe’s initial $13.2 billion projection.

This was Adobe’s estimate of online spending at U.S. retailers, not a worldwide retail total or a government count. Adobe said its analysis covered more than one trillion visits to U.S. retail sites, 100 million product SKUs and 18 product categories. Those are Adobe’s stated data-scope figures; they should not be read as an independently audited count of every transaction or retailer.
Adobe reported that spending peaked from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., when it measured $15.8 million spent per minute. That is a reported peak-period rate, not the day’s average spending rate.

Is Cyber Monday still the biggest online shopping day?
Not by the latest completed result in Adobe’s reporting. Adobe reported $14.25 billion in U.S. online spending for Cyber Monday 2025, up 7.1% year over year, surpassing the 2024 record. Adobe’s September 2026 release forecasts that Cyber Monday spending will exceed $15 billion; until the event occurs and results are reported, that remains an expectation rather than a new record.

How did Cyber Monday compare with the rest of Cyber Week in 2024?
Cyber Week, which Adobe defined as Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, brought in $41.1 billion online in 2024, up 8.2% year over year. That five-day total is a different measure from Cyber Monday’s single-day spending.

Cyber Monday had the largest single-day total among these figures, but not the fastest year-over-year growth. Adobe Digital Insights lead analyst Vivek Pandya said in Adobe’s December 3, 2024 recap: “While Cyber Monday remained the season’s and year’s biggest online shopping day, year-over-year growth was stronger on both Thanksgiving and Black Friday.”

What did shoppers buy, and how did they pay?
Mobile shopping and buy-now-pay-later
Adobe reported that mobile devices accounted for 57% of Cyber Monday 2024 online sales, or $7.6 billion, a 13.3% increase from the prior year. The share describes sales made through mobile devices; it is not a share of all holiday-season spending.
Adobe also measured $991.2 million in buy-now-pay-later spending that day, up 5.5% year over year. Of BNPL transactions, 75.2% took place on mobile.

Discounts and popular product categories
Adobe’s reported peak discounts off listed prices included 30.1% for electronics, 26.1% for toys, 23.2% for apparel, 21.8% for televisions and 21.5% for computers. These were category-level peaks during Cyber Monday 2024, not promised savings on any particular item.
Adobe listed toys including Elf on the Shelf dolls, Harry Potter toys and figurines, board games, LEGO City sets and craft kits among top sellers. Its named gaming consoles included PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch OLED and Meta Quest. Traffic from generative-AI chatbots
Adobe said retail-site traffic referred by generative-AI chatbots increased 1,950% year over year on Cyber Monday 2024, while noting that the user base remained modest. This measures referral traffic, not purchases attributed to AI or AI’s share of sales.
