Choose a character by comparing their starting weapon and stats, then build the run around the weapons and power-ups you are offered as you gain experience. The official sources do not establish a strongest character or a proven optimal build, so treat character choice as a starting point—not a tier-list verdict.
What character choice means in Warhammer Survivors
Warhammer Survivors brings characters and settings from Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar into a wave-survival game. Its current announcement describes more than 40 playable characters and over 70 weapons. Those roster figures indicate variety, but they do not show which character performs best.

The developer says each character has unique weapons and starting stats, adding: “no two survivors play the same.” That makes the opening kit the most grounded basis for choosing a character: compare what a character starts with, then decide whether that kit suits how you want to approach a run. The official description does not provide a complete stat breakdown or rank characters by strength. VainSoftGames’ Warhammer Survivors page describes the character differences.

How to compare characters without an unsupported tier list
Check the starting weapon
Look at each character’s distinct starting weapon and consider whether its style appeals to you. The available official material confirms that starting weapons differ, but it does not explain specific weapon behaviors or document which ones are strongest. Verify those details in the current game or demo rather than assuming a weapon’s performance from its name or setting.

Compare the starting stats in the game
Starting stats are also character-specific. Use the values shown in the current build to compare characters on the same terms. The developer’s page does not publish an exact stat table, stat rankings, or a recommendation for beginners, so there is not enough official evidence to label one character easiest or best.
Use hands-on play to decide between similar options
If two starting kits both look appealing, try them and observe how each feels in the current version. The demo announcement names the Legend of Catachan and Lyssa Revenya as its two demo heroes. That gives players a concrete pair to compare, but it does not establish that either is stronger. Warhammer Community’s October 6, 2026 demo announcement says the demo is available on Steam and Xbox for PC.

How to build a stronger run after choosing a character
A character’s starting kit is only the opening of a run. The official overview describes fighting waves, earning experience, and gaining opportunities to select weapons and power-ups. Make those later choices in response to what the run offers instead of treating the starting character as a complete build.
- Start with the character’s kit: note the weapon and stats the character brings into the run.
- Earn experience and review the available choices: the official overview says experience leads to new weapons and power-ups.
- Choose based on the options actually presented: the sources confirm these choices exist but do not document exact synergies, upgrade rules, or a guaranteed optimal sequence.
This is a decision framework, not a proven build order. The official descriptions are high-level and do not identify combinations that reliably outperform others.

Keep run choices separate from long-term unlocks
There are two progression timescales. Weapons and power-ups are choices made during an individual run. Across runs, the official overview says players can unlock additional characters, upgrades, weapon combinations, and secrets. Keep those longer-term unlocks distinct from the choices you make after earning experience in a particular run; the available overview does not specify unlock conditions or their effects.

What the current demo and launch announcement establish
As of October 7, 2026, Warhammer Survivors is announced to launch on November 10, 2026.
