Yes. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 now lets you play as Chaos Space Marines in Chaos Siege, a free PvE mode added with Patch 15, also called Anniversary Update II. The mode is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and its announced battles take place in two sectors of Avarax.
What does “play as Chaos” mean in Space Marine 2?
Chaos Siege is a specific PvE mode in which players control Chaos Space Marines. Focus Entertainment described the update as the first time players can do so in the game’s PvE modes; that does not mean Chaos is playable throughout the campaign or in every mode. The publisher’s 1 October 2026 announcement identifies Chaos Siege as part of Patch 15’s free update.
Where does Chaos Siege take place, and who are the enemies?
The announced missions cover two sectors on Avarax. Players face Tyranids, Cadians, and loyalist Space Marines. The announcement establishes the setting and opposing forces, but does not specify further mission mechanics or performance details.

Focus Entertainment calls Patch 15 a free update and lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC availability. Chaos Siege is part of that update; the announcement does not make Season Pass 3 a requirement to access the mode.

What else is included in Patch 15?
- Crucible System: Optional mission challenges built around Penances—debuffs and negative modifiers—with successful missions progressing toward rewards, including a Lamenters armour set.
- One-Handed Thunder Hammer: Usable by Tactical, Assault, Bulwark, and Techmarine classes.
- Weapon variants and armour: The update adds variants for the Power Axe, Auto Bolt Rifle, and hammer, alongside new armour pieces.
Which content costs extra?
The announcement lists the Space Wolves Champion Pack and Exorcists Cosmetic Pack as Season Pass 3 cosmetics, separately from the free update. It does not state that either pack is needed for Chaos Siege.

The publisher’s September 2026 community update lists the Apothecary class for Patch 17, planned for the first quarter of 2027, along with five cosmetic or champion packs for Year 3 and additional game content.
