The gold-plated ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Dhahab OC Edition was listed on eBay for as much as $22,990 in a report published June 12, 2025. That was a seller’s asking price—not ASUS’s MSRP and not proof that anyone bought the card for that amount. Later reports put its price at different levels, so there is no single current price established here.
What the reported $23,000 price actually means
HotHardware reported finding at least 10 eBay listings for the Dhahab on June 12, 2025. The listings ranged from $8,500 to $22,990. Those figures describe resale offers observed at that time; they do not establish completed sales or a price set by ASUS. HotHardware’s report is the source for the range.
Other figures cited in coverage refer to different price categories and markets. HotHardware reported a Dhahab value of 24,990 AED—about $6,800 at the conversion used in its June 2025 article—and cited $1,999 as the RTX 5090 Founders Edition MSRP. Tom’s Hardware later reported a $3,099 recommended price for the Dhahab and eBay listings reaching $22,900. These are not interchangeable quotes: they refer to different dates, markets, and types of pricing.
| Figure | What it refers to | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| $22,990 | Highest eBay asking price HotHardware said it found; not a confirmed sale. | HotHardware, June 12, 2025 |
| $8,500 | Lowest of at least 10 eBay listings HotHardware said it found. | HotHardware, June 12, 2025 |
| 24,990 AED (about $6,800) | Reported Dhahab value and contemporaneous conversion, not the eBay high asking price. | HotHardware, June 12, 2025 |
| $1,999 | RTX 5090 Founders Edition MSRP cited as a comparison; it is not the Dhahab’s price. | HotHardware, June 12, 2025 |
| $3,099 | Dhahab recommended price reported by Tom’s Hardware; the report also noted resale listings up to $22,900. | Tom’s Hardware, June 17, 2025 |
| $11,999 | Dhahab listing price reported at the time of TechRadar’s article; it does not establish current availability. | TechRadar, September 16, 2026 |
Why the Dhahab costs more than a standard RTX 5090
The Dhahab is a special gold-themed version of ASUS’s ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090, rather than a standard Founders Edition. Contemporary reports said its plating contains 6.5 grams of 999-fineness gold. That material is part of the card’s presentation, but the gold’s estimated raw-metal value is only one element of what buyers may pay for a distinctive product.

Estimates for the metal itself differed by publication and date: PC Gamer put 6.5 grams at about $670 in May 2025, while HotHardware estimated about $700 in June 2025. These are dated estimates of the gold’s material value, not valuations of the complete graphics card or its collectible premium. PC Gamer’s May 2025 report and HotHardware’s June 2025 report give those estimates.
What later listings say about price and availability
The $22,990 figure is historical, not a reliable current quote. TechRadar reported a Dhahab listing price of $11,999 on September 16, 2026. Retail pages accessed October 4, 2026 showed no stock at Silicon Valley Computers and a sold-out status at RAC GAMERS. Those retailer pages report their own listing and stock status; they do not establish availability across other sellers or regions.

Prices and stock can change, and a marketplace listing is not the same as a completed transaction. Before considering an offer, check that it is the Dhahab edition, confirm the seller and shipping terms, and verify what warranty—if any—applies in your region. The observed October 2026 stock statuses are snapshots, not a guarantee of what a store shows now.
Is the $23,000 RTX 5090 price real?
Yes, as a reported eBay asking price: HotHardware said it found a listing at $22,990 in June 2025. No, if “real” means an official ASUS price or a verified sale at that amount. The available reports do not establish that anyone paid $22,990.

What buyers should compare
- Price category: Separate an official or recommended price from a retailer offer and a resale seller’s asking price.
- Date and market: The reported figures span different dates and currencies; the 24,990 AED conversion was the one HotHardware used in June 2025.
- Product identity: Confirm the listing names the ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Dhahab OC Edition, not another RTX 5090 model.
- Offer details: Check current stock, seller identity, shipping, return terms, and regional warranty before relying on a listing.
The cited coverage does not provide a same-date performance comparison that would show whether the Dhahab performs differently from a standard RTX 5090 or quantify any performance premium. The price reports support a conclusion about changing asking prices, not a performance-based value judgment.
