The Wanbo X5 Pro is a native 1080p smart projector that makes the most sense for movie nights in a dark room. RTINGS found good contrast in dark scenes and low fan noise, but also disappointing brightness, inaccurate color and high input lag. Its “online 4K support” means it can handle 4K content; it does not project a native 4K image.
What the Wanbo X5 Pro does well—and where it falls short
In RTINGS’ review of the X5 Pro 2025, dark-scene contrast and minimal fan noise were the main strengths. The same review found the projector dim, with inaccurate out-of-box color and limited color volume. In practice, that combination favors watching films in a darkened room over using the projector with lights on or expecting especially faithful color.
RTINGS recommends turning off nearby lights for a better picture. For outdoor viewing, it advises waiting until sunset and switching off nearby lights. The manufacturer’s published brightness specification is 1100 ANSI lumens, but that is a product-page claim—not an independent brightness measurement. RTINGS’ Wanbo X5 Pro review was published March 12, 2026, and modified September 23, 2026.

Resolution: 1080p projection with 4K content support
Wanbo lists the X5 Pro 2025’s physical resolution as 1920×1080. Its product title and page also advertise online 4K support, which refers to handling 4K content, not displaying it at native 4K resolution. RTINGS says the projector can accept downscaled 4K/60Hz signals; that capability does not make the projected image 4K. Wanbo’s X5 Pro 2025 product page was accessed October 7, 2026.

Gaming performance is a weak point
RTINGS reports high input lag across all tested resolutions and refresh rates, and frame skipping at 1080p/120Hz. It can accept downscaled 4K/60Hz signals, but signal compatibility should not be mistaken for low-latency play or smooth high-refresh gaming. If responsive controls matter—particularly in fast-paced games—this is a poor fit based on those test findings.
Placement and setup: measure before you mount it
The listed 1.25:1 projection ratio is useful for estimating how far the projector must sit from the screen, but it does not provide the flexibility of optical zoom. Wanbo lists automatic focus, keystone correction, screen alignment and obstacle avoidance on the X5 Pro 2025 page. RTINGS notes that the reviewed projector lacks both optical zoom and lens shift. Automatic and digital adjustments can help square and focus the image, but they do not move the lens or substitute for choosing a suitable physical position.
