Walmart Deal Days laptop deals reported October 5
The prices and configurations below are those reported on October 5, 2026—not guaranteed current prices. Popular Science said it did not test the laptops; its recommendations were based on specifications, price and seller. Its article also noted that Walmart’s displayed “was” prices are not a verified price history and that it could not confirm a record low.
| Model | Reported price and configuration | Best fit and trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15 | $699, compared with Walmart’s stated $849 “was” price; Core Ultra 5, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, touchscreen. Popular Science reported Walmart.com as seller and 4.6 stars across 37 ratings, some labeled incentivized. | The most balanced configuration in this group for everyday use and multitasking. Popular Science reported nine units left when it checked; that stock figure is not current inventory. |
| Lenovo IdeaPad 5i 15.3-inch 2-in-1 | $729; the same stated processor, memory and SSD as the Slim 3i. | Consider the $30 premium over the Slim 3i if you will use the convertible tablet mode. |
| HP 14-inch with Intel N150 | $199; 4GB RAM and 128GB UFS storage. | The lowest reported price, suited to light tasks. Four gigabytes of memory can become restrictive with many browser tabs or heavier multitasking. |
| ASUS Vivobook X1404 | $349; Core i3-1315U, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and a Full HD screen. | A budget step-up from the HP 14, but storage is limited and the reported listing shipped with Windows 11 S Mode. |
| HP 15 | $339, compared with a reported $589 former price; 15-inch Full HD screen, Intel Core i3-N305, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. | A separate HP offer reported by TechRadar—not the HP 14 above. TechRadar disclosed it had not reviewed this laptop. |

Which laptop deal makes sense for your needs?
For a general-purpose laptop
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15 has the strongest stated balance here: 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD and a touchscreen. That makes it the more flexible pick for people who keep several apps or browser tabs open, though the listing price and availability need to be checked live.

For a convertible laptop
The IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 shares the Slim 3i’s stated core configuration and costs $30 more in the October 5 report. That premium is easier to justify if you expect to switch between laptop and tablet mode; otherwise, the convertible feature may not be worth paying extra for.
For the lowest upfront cost
The $199 HP 14 is the cheapest reported option, but its 4GB RAM and 128GB UFS storage are substantial limits. It is a better fit for basic browsing and light tasks than for demanding multitasking or storing a large collection of files.

For a budget step-up

How to check an offer before you buy
- Open the live product listing and confirm the exact model and configuration. Similar product names can hide differences in memory, storage, screen or processor.
- Check the current total price, seller and stock. The October 5 reports are snapshots, not guarantees that the same offer or inventory remains available.
- Match the specifications to your workload: memory matters for running many tabs or apps, while storage capacity determines how much you can keep locally.
- Verify offer access and any listing-specific terms on the product page. Popular Science reported that its checked sale listings did not require membership, but live offers may differ.
- Treat a crossed-out “was” price as Walmart’s displayed comparison, not proof of a historical low. The sources did not establish that any listed laptop was at its record-low price.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Should you buy now or wait for Black Friday?
These reports do not establish whether a laptop will cost less on Black Friday. If you need a computer now, compare the live price and specifications with your requirements rather than treating a discount label as proof of value. If your purchase can wait, a later sale is an option, but its future price cannot be predicted from the October listings.
