Vizio’s reviewed guidance does not document a universal setting to block or PIN-lock one selected built-in streaming app. The available controls have narrower scopes: Vizio’s mobile app offers age filters for WatchFree+, some TV models have PIN-protected controls for channels and rated programs, and streaming services may offer their own parental settings.
What do you mean by “block an app”?
Hiding or removing an app from the home screen, requiring a PIN to open an app, and filtering content by age are different functions. Vizio’s documented controls cover WatchFree+ content ratings and certain channel or program restrictions; they do not establish a system-wide PIN lock for an individual streaming app.
Use the control that matches what you want to restrict

Set age filters for WatchFree+
Vizio says its mobile app can block WatchFree+ content based on age rating. In the Vizio app, open Account, select WatchFree+, then choose a category: Family Friendly, Teens, or Adult. These filters apply to WatchFree+ content, not to services such as YouTube or Netflix. Vizio Mobile App

What the TV’s PIN-protected controls can do
On the V-Series 2020 model covered by Vizio’s manual, the route is Menu > TV Channels > Parental Controls, followed by entering the PIN. The manual says this menu is available when using the tuner or certain directly connected composite or coaxial sources. It describes locking channels and blocking programs by rating; it also includes an option to block unrated shows.

The system PIN must be set to access Parental Controls. The manual describes turning Locks on or off and configuring channel and rating restrictions. Those controls are for the supported channels and programs described in the manual, not a way to require a PIN before opening an installed streaming app. Menu names and available options can vary by model and generation. Check the streaming app’s own parental settings
Vizio’s SmartCast app listing says the developers of third-party apps determine whether parental controls are available and how they can be adjusted. For a particular service, check its account, profile, or parental-control settings. Find the right manual for your Vizio TV
- Find the TV’s model number. Use the label on the TV or the model information shown in its settings.
- Open Vizio Support. Search for the exact model and open its manual or model-specific support information.
- Check the manual’s parental-control section. Follow only the menu path and restrictions it documents for that model; do not assume a channel or ratings menu can lock apps.
The 2020 V-Series instructions are model-specific. An older Vizio Internet Apps manual likewise describes channel locks and content-rating blocks, but it does not establish current options on every Vizio TV. A 2023 Smart TV Platform manual describes the Vizio Mobile App as a remote and TV-configuration tool; that description does not document an individual-app lock. Can you put a PIN on YouTube or Netflix?
The reviewed Vizio documentation does not establish a TV setting that PIN-locks an individual built-in app such as YouTube or Netflix. Check the specific service’s account or profile settings for controls it provides, and consult your exact TV model’s manual to confirm its available options.
