The right choice depends first on which vivo Y400 you mean: Indonesia’s Y400 is a 4G model, while India’s Y400 5G is a different phone with a different processor and faster charging. Against the Galaxy A37 5G, the Y400 models list larger batteries; Samsung’s model offers 5G and an ultrawide rear camera, and 91mobiles lists substantially longer software support for it. Prices vary by market and date, so compare local versions and live listings rather than treating one price as universal.
Check which vivo Y400 you are comparing
“vivo Y400” can refer to materially different regional models. The Indonesian Y400 is a 4G phone with Snapdragon 685 and 44 W charging. India’s Y400 5G uses Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and 90 W charging. The Galaxy A37 in the comparison is the 5G model. Do not apply the Indonesia model’s specifications or prices to the India 5G model.

The A37 technical specifications below are attributed to 91mobiles’ comparison page because an official Samsung technical specification sheet for the target market is not established here.

Screen, speed and everyday use
Display
The Indonesia Y400 and Galaxy A37 are close in listed screen size and refresh rate: 6.67 inches at 120 Hz for vivo and 6.7 inches at 120 Hz for Samsung. vivo specifies 2400 × 1080 resolution for its Indonesia model. The names AMOLED and Super AMOLED do not, by themselves, establish which display looks better; brightness, color tuning and outdoor visibility are not directly compared by the cited specifications.
Performance and connectivity
The A37 is listed as a 5G phone with an Exynos 1480, while the Indonesia Y400 is a 4G phone with Snapdragon 685. If 5G access matters, the Indonesia Y400 does not meet that requirement. India’s Y400 5G is a separate option, built around Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, and should not be assumed to perform like either the Indonesia model or the A37.

91mobiles reports AnTuTu scores of 1,053,896 for the Galaxy A37 5G and 478,134 for the Y400, as well as Geekbench multi-core scores of 3,468 and 2,146, respectively. These are figures reported by that comparison page; the available page does not give enough comparable test-method detail to make them a reproducible head-to-head result. Use them as indicative database figures, not a guarantee of performance in your apps or games.

Cameras: choose the useful lens, not the largest number
On the 91mobiles comparison, the A37’s rear-camera set includes an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a 5 MP macro camera alongside its 50 MP main camera. The Y400 is listed with a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth camera. An ultrawide can capture a broader scene than a standard main camera, giving Samsung a listed lens option the Indonesia Y400 lacks. The listed 32 MP front camera on the Y400 has higher resolution than the A37’s listed 12 MP front camera, but resolution and camera count do not establish photo quality. The specifications do not substitute for comparable image samples or testing.

Battery, charging and durability
The Indonesia Y400 lists a 6,000 mAh battery and 44 W charging; the A37 comparison lists a 5,000 mAh battery and 45 W charging. The India Y400 5G store listing also specifies 6,000 mAh, but at 90 W. Capacity and charging wattage are specifications, not measured runtime or a complete charging-time comparison. 91mobiles reports an 11-hour-50-minute PCMark battery-test result for the A37 but no PCMark result for the Y400, so that figure cannot establish which phone lasts longer in a matched test.
vivo Indonesia lists IP68/IP69 protection for its Y400, while 91mobiles lists IP68 for the A37. These ratings describe performance under specified test conditions; they do not make a phone damage-proof or promise protection in every real-world exposure. Consult the manufacturer’s regional guidance before exposing either device to water or dust.

The available comparison does not establish manufacturer support documentation for both models in every country. If update longevity will determine your purchase, confirm the applicable policy with Samsung or vivo for the exact regional model before buying.
Price difference by market

India price for the Y400 5G
When accessed, vivo India’s store page showed ₹40,999 including tax for the Y400 5G 8 GB/128 GB Olive Green SKU, and marked that selected SKU unavailable. That is a store-page observation for one configuration, not a guaranteed current price or availability.
Indonesia prices and historical launch offer
vivo Indonesia’s product specification page lists Rp3,499,000 for the Y400 8 GB/128 GB and Rp3,899,000 for the 8 GB/256 GB model. The page’s displayed prices may differ from launch pricing or current retailer offers. At launch, vivo announced pre-order prices of Rp3,199,000 and Rp3,499,000, respectively, for the stated 4–8 August 2025 period; those are historical offer prices. Details appear in vivo Indonesia’s 4 August 2025 announcement.
Australia A37 promotion
Samsung Australia’s terms for a 2026 promotion listed an A$599 RRP and A$499 introductory offer for the Galaxy A37 5G 6 GB/128 GB. The promotion ran 26 March–29 April 2026 in Samsung retail stores and 2–29 April 2026 at other participating retailers, for eligible Australian residents. The offer period has ended; it is historical Australian pricing, not a current offer and not comparable directly with India’s rupee marketplace prices. See Samsung Australia’s offer terms.
Which phone makes more sense for you?
Choose the Galaxy A37 5G if
- You need a 5G phone and are comparing it with the Indonesia-market Y400 4G.
- You would use a dedicated ultrawide rear camera.
- Longer stated software support matters, after confirming Samsung’s policy for your country and exact model.
Consider the Indonesia Y400 4G if
- You do not need 5G and value its listed 6,000 mAh battery or IP68/IP69 ratings.
- You prefer the listed 32 MP front camera, while recognizing that resolution alone does not predict image quality.
- Its current local price and storage configuration suit your budget.
Consider the India Y400 5G as a separate option if
- You want a vivo 5G model with the listed 6,000 mAh battery and 90 W charging.
- You are comparing its actual local price and availability with the A37, rather than using the Indonesia Y400’s specifications or the other Y400 listing price.
There is no universal winner established by these specifications. Make the decision using the exact local model, current price, network needs, camera priorities and the update policy confirmed for your market.
