For the India-market vivo Y400 5G and OPPO A6 Pro 5G (model CPH2827), the clearest choice is display versus battery: vivo lists a sharper FHD+ AMOLED screen and 90W charging, while OPPO lists a larger 7000mAh battery. Both have 120Hz displays and 50MP+2MP rear-camera setups. A reliable current India price difference cannot be established from the official listings available here, so compare the exact storage variant and seller before buying.

Which phone has the better display?
The vivo Y400 has the stronger listed display specifications for sharpness and panel technology. Its 2400×1080 AMOLED panel is rated at 394 PPI, compared with the OPPO A6 Pro’s 1570×720 LCD at 256 PPI. Fine text and detailed images should appear sharper on the vivo based on those specifications, and AMOLED is a different display technology from OPPO’s LCD.

Both phones list refresh rates of up to 120Hz, so the refresh-rate figure alone does not distinguish them. Brightness figures need care: vivo reports a local peak of 1800 nits, while OPPO reports 900 nits typical and 1125 nits HBM. These are differently labelled vendor figures, not directly comparable measurements under a common test.
Do their processors make one faster?
The Y400 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, while the A6 Pro uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300. The listed names and manufacturing-process figure for the Snapdragon do not establish which phone performs better in everyday use or games. No comparable independent benchmark results are available here, so a performance winner would be speculation.

How do the cameras compare?
On the rear, both phones list a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP secondary camera. OPPO identifies its second camera as monochrome; the published headline specifications alone do not establish a practical camera-quality advantage for either phone.
For selfies, vivo lists a 32MP f/2.45 camera and OPPO a 16MP f/2.4 camera. The higher pixel count is a hardware distinction, not proof of better photos: image quality also depends on factors such as processing, optics and shooting conditions, and these specifications are not a substitute for comparable camera tests.

OPPO lists a 7000mAh typical battery, 1000mAh more than vivo’s 6000mAh typical capacity. Their rated capacities are 6830mAh for OPPO and 5880mAh for vivo. Capacity figures do not guarantee a particular screen-on time: use, mobile signal, display settings, software and environment all affect runtime.
vivo advertises charging up to 90W; OPPO advertises up to 80W SUPERVOOC and notes that maximum output can vary with regional input voltage. The wattage figures do not predict a guaranteed charging time or prove that vivo will finish charging a given amount sooner under real-world conditions.

What do their water and dust ratings mean?
Both manufacturers list substantial water and dust resistance, but the ratings and usage descriptions are not identical. vivo lists IP68 and IP69 and gives specific limits for underwater photography: use fresh water, stay within 2 metres depth, and limit a single use to 30 minutes. vivo’s product specifications also warn against non-fresh water.
OPPO lists IP66, IP68 and IP69 under controlled tests. Its India overview describes IP68 at 1.5 metres for 30 minutes and IP69 jet conditions, and says the phone is not designed for professional diving and that waterproof performance may diminish over time. See OPPO’s A6 Pro 5G overview. Follow the limits and care instructions for the exact phone; water resistance can decrease with wear, and neither device should be treated as a diving camera. Keep the charging port dry before charging.

What is the India price difference?
The official vivo India Online Store search listing shows ₹34,999 for the Y400 5G with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. That is a listing-specific price, not a guarantee of today’s checkout price. The official OPPO India specification and overview pages consulted establish product details but not a comparable current India price, so they do not support an official price-difference calculation.
A third-party 91mobiles comparison result surfaced ₹31,999 for vivo Y400 and ₹32,999 for OPPO A6 Pro. Those figures are not a verified same-date, same-storage, same-seller pair and should be treated as indicative, not as official or directly comparable prices. Check current listings for matching RAM and storage, seller, offers and regional warranty before deciding on value. Sources: vivo India Online Store and 91mobiles comparison listing.
Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the vivo Y400 5G if the sharper FHD+ AMOLED display, higher listed selfie-camera resolution or higher advertised charging ceiling matters most to you.
- Choose the OPPO A6 Pro 5G if the larger listed battery capacity is the priority and you are comfortable with its lower-resolution HD+ LCD display.
- Compare further before deciding if camera quality, processor speed, actual battery life or charging time is decisive. The listed specifications do not settle those performance questions.
