The vivo Y31 Pro 5G is a midrange Android phone built around the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, with 8GB of RAM, a choice of 128GB or 256GB storage, a 6.72-inch 120Hz LCD, a 6500mAh typical battery and 44W charging. On vivo India’s official store page, checked on 4 October 2026, the 8GB+128GB version was displayed at ₹23,999 and the 8GB+256GB version at ₹25,999. The 128GB listing showed as unavailable at the time of checking. vivo’s launch prices, which were lower, were ₹18,999 and ₹20,999 respectively.
Full specifications at a glance
The figures below come from vivo’s official India specification page and product overview. They describe the phone as vivo lists it; independent measurements were not part of this check.
| Category | Officially listed details |
|---|---|
| Model and network | vivo Y31 Pro 5G; dual nano-SIM with dual-SIM dual standby; listed 5G bands n1, n3, n5, n8, n28B, n40, n77 and n78. Actual 5G support depends on local networks, deployment, regulation and software. |
| Software | Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15. The official sources reviewed do not state an update commitment. |
| Processor | MediaTek Dimensity 7300, octa-core, 4nm; listed CPU clocks of 4 × 2.5GHz and 4 × 2.0GHz. |
| Memory and storage | 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage. vivo notes that usable RAM and storage are lower than the labelled figures because the system and pre-installed software take up space. Extended RAM is software-based. |
| Display | 6.72-inch full-rectangle LCD; 2408 × 1080 resolution; refresh rate up to 120Hz; 393 PPI; 83% NTSC; HBM peak brightness of 1050 nits under a specified high-ambient-light condition. |
| Rear cameras | 50MP f/1.8 main and 2MP f/2.4; rear flash. |
| Front camera | 8MP f/2.05. |
| Battery and charging | 6500mAh typical capacity; 6360mAh rated capacity; 44W FlashCharge. |
| Durability | IP64 rating for splash, water and dust resistance, tested under controlled conditions. vivo’s overview also reports five MIL-STD-810H environmental tests. |
| Connectivity | Dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi; Bluetooth 5.4; USB 2.0; GPS; OTG. Infrared blaster and gyroscope listed. NFC and FM radio are not listed. |
| Build | Dreamy White and Mocha Brown finishes; listed weight of 208g (Dreamy White) and 204g (Mocha Brown); dimensions vary slightly by colour. |
Display
The screen is a 6.72-inch LCD with a 2408 × 1080 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. vivo describes the panel as full-rectangle, but notes that the usable display area is slightly smaller than the 6.72-inch diagonal suggests. The 1050-nit HBM figure is a peak value that applies only when ambient light exceeds 30,000 lux, which is a specific bright-sunlight condition, not everyday brightness.
The 120Hz setting only takes effect in apps and games that support it. vivo’s parameter page also warns that the higher refresh rate does not apply in every scenario, so the smoother motion should not be expected across the whole interface at all times.

Performance, memory and software
Processor
The Dimensity 7300 is a 4nm octa-core chip. vivo lists its CPU clocks as four cores at 2.5GHz and four at 2.0GHz. vivo does not publish GPU details in the sources reviewed, so graphics performance cannot be judged from the official specification alone.
Memory and storage
Both India configurations carry 8GB of RAM. The labelled 128GB or 256GB storage is the total; vivo says the amount available to you will be lower once the operating system and pre-installed apps are in place. Extended RAM is a software feature rather than additional physical memory.
Software
The phone ships with Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15. The official material reviewed does not describe how many future Android or security updates vivo will provide, so buyers who care about long-term support should check vivo’s update policy for this model before purchase.

Battery and charging
vivo lists the battery at 6500mAh typical and 6360mAh rated. Both figures appear on vivo’s own specification page, and the rated value is the lower of the two. The phone supports 44W FlashCharge. Charging speed and full-charge time depend on the charger used, the cable, the battery’s temperature and the phone’s current state, so the figure should be read as a maximum rather than a fixed charging time.
Battery-duration and charging-speed claims in vivo’s marketing are based on laboratory conditions set by vivo. They describe what the phone achieves under those conditions and are not a guarantee of how long the battery will last for an individual user.
Cameras
The rear system pairs a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor with a 2MP f/2.4 secondary sensor, with a rear flash. The front camera is an 8MP f/2.05 unit. vivo’s overview states that 4K video recording at 30 fps is available on the 6GB and 8GB RAM editions. The 8GB configurations sold in India are the ones this article covers; the 6GB edition is not part of the India price list discussed here.

Durability: IP64 and MIL-STD-810H
The IP64 rating means the phone is protected against splashes, water and dust under controlled test conditions. It does not mean the phone is waterproof for submersion or permanently protected. vivo says resistance can decline with use, advises against charging the phone while it is wet, and states that damage caused by liquid ingress is not covered by warranty.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutevivo also says the phone passed five environmental tests under the MIL-STD-810H military standard, covering heat, cold, rain, dust and shock. These results come from vivo’s own laboratory testing. vivo says lab results are not a definite indicator of everyday durability and that actual results will vary. They are not independent certification.
Network, connectivity and what is missing
The phone supports dual nano-SIM and dual standby, Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, OTG and USB 2.0. It has an infrared blaster and a gyroscope. The official specification does not list NFC or an FM radio, so contactless payments through the phone’s own NFC and FM listening are not part of its listed feature set.

Build, colours and what is in the box
The phone is offered in Dreamy White and Mocha Brown. Listed weights are 208g for the Dreamy White and 204g for the Mocha Brown, and vivo notes that dimensions differ slightly between colours. The retail box includes a quick start guide, a USB cable, a charger, an eject tool for the SIM tray, a case, an applied protective film and a warranty card.

vivo’s India e-store and the launch announcement give two different sets of prices. They should not be read as one price history.

At launch, vivo named Flipkart, its own India e-store and partner retail stores as sales channels. Those were the channels named in the announcement; the sources reviewed do not confirm current listings on each of them. Before ordering, confirm the storage variant, the seller, the stock status and the final price at checkout, because the 128GB listing was showing as unavailable on vivo’s store when checked.
How to judge it against other midrange phones
This article does not establish whether the Y31 Pro 5G is better or worse than a competing model. A fair comparison needs current transaction prices and verified stock on both phones, and it should compare the same things side by side:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Chipset and sustained performance, not just the chip name
- Display type, peak brightness and whether the refresh rate is available in the apps you use
- Battery capacity, charging wattage and what the charger in the box supplies
- Camera hardware, video modes and front-camera resolution
- Durability ratings and the wording of each manufacturer’s warranty exclusions
- Software version, update commitment and the NFC or FM features you need
If your priorities are a large battery, a 120Hz screen and 8GB of RAM at a midrange price, the listed specifications here are the figures to weigh against those competitors.
The Bottom Line
The vivo Y31 Pro 5G is a midrange phone with an 8GB Dimensity 7300 configuration, a 120Hz LCD, a 6500mAh typical battery and 44W charging. As of 4 October 2026, vivo India displayed ₹23,999 for 8GB+128GB and ₹25,999 for 8GB+256GB, but the 128GB listing was unavailable, so check stock and checkout price before you buy.
