The realme 16T 5G has the larger listed battery (8,000mAh typical) and the higher listed maximum refresh rate (144Hz). The vivo Y31 5G is the phone with a verifiable India list price, ₹27,999 MRP including taxes for the 6GB+128GB variant, although that configuration showed as unavailable on vivo’s India store when it was checked in 2026. Neither set of published specifications shows which phone performs better in daily use, and no numeric price difference can be stated yet because a current realme 16T 5G price could not be confirmed from its official India page. This article covers the vivo Y31 5G, not the vivo Y31t 5G.
Specifications side by side
The table below uses the official figures each manufacturer publishes. Where a source does not give a value, the cell says so rather than filling the gap with an estimate. The realme detailed specification page reviewed is the Philippines edition, so its regional details are flagged where they matter.
| Attribute | vivo Y31 5G | realme 16T 5G | What the difference means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chipset | Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 | MediaTek Dimensity 6300 | Two different platforms; the listed names alone do not rank speed. |
| Display | 6.68-inch LCD, 1608 × 720 (HD+) | 6.8-inch LCD, 1570 × 720 (HD+), maximum 144Hz | Similar panel class; realme lists a refresh rate, vivo’s store page does not. |
| Refresh rate | Not stated on the vivo India product page | Maximum 144Hz (realme Philippines specifications page) | Only realme publishes a figure, so the refresh rate cannot be compared directly. |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main + 0.08MP | 50MP wide + 2MP monochrome | Both lead with a 50MP main sensor; megapixel count does not decide image quality. |
| Front camera | 8MP | 16MP | realme lists the higher selfie resolution. |
| Battery | 6,500mAh typical (vivo India product page) | 8,000mAh typical; 7,780mAh rated (realme Philippines specifications page) | realme’s listed typical capacity is larger; the two capacities use different labels. |
| Charging | 44W FlashCharge (vivo marketing) | 45W SUPERVOOC (realme specifications page) | Different proprietary brands; their published wattages are not a tested charging-speed comparison. |
| Memory and storage options | 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, 6GB+256GB (vivo India e-store listing) | 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB (realme Philippines specifications page) | Options differ by market; confirm the configurations sold in your country. |
| Software | Funtouch OS 15 | realme UI 7.0 | Manufacturer-published versions; both can change with updates. |
| Durability rating | IP68/69 (vivo India product page marketing) | IP66/68/69/69K and military-grade shock resistance (realme India product page marketing) | Manufacturer claims with conditions, not a guarantee of damage protection. |
| Box contents | Charger, cable, case, applied film, eject tool, quick-start guide and warranty card | Charger, data cable, case, eject tool, quick guide and safety guide (realme Philippines specifications page) | Accessories may vary by market. |
Where the differences matter
Battery and charging
realme’s 8,000mAh figure is labeled typical, and its 7,780mAh figure is labeled rated. Both labels come from realme’s own specification page, and that page does not define the difference, so treat them as two published numbers rather than one. vivo’s 6,500mAh figure is labeled typical. On paper the realme 16T 5G has the larger battery, but battery endurance depends on screen use, network conditions and software behavior, and neither manufacturer’s listing measures those. realme India describes its battery-health and endurance statements as based on realme Lab data and notes that some are theoretical calculations and actual results vary. Those statements should be presented as realme’s claims.
Display
Both phones use an HD+ LCD of similar size, so neither offers a sharper panel than the other on resolution. The meaningful difference is refresh rate: realme publishes a 144Hz maximum, while vivo’s India product page gives no figure. A maximum rate is not the rate the phone runs in everyday use, and apps and settings determine what you actually see.

Chipset and performance
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and Dimensity 6300 are both entry-level platforms, but the published specifications establish only that they differ. Performance claims need independent benchmark results measured on the same test conditions, and none were available for this comparison. Treat any statement that one chip is faster as unverified.
Cameras
The main sensors are both listed at 50MP. realme adds a 2MP monochrome unit and a 16MP front camera, compared with vivo’s 0.08MP auxiliary sensor and 8MP front camera. Those listings say nothing about low-light performance, colour accuracy or portrait quality. Judge the cameras from sample photos taken with the phones themselves.

Software and durability claims
vivo ships Funtouch OS 15 and realme ships realme UI 7.0, according to each manufacturer. Update commitments are not stated in the material reviewed, so check each brand’s current update policy before buying. The durability ratings are marketing claims: vivo promotes IP68/69, and realme promotes IP66/68/69/69K plus military-grade shock resistance. Those ratings describe test conditions set by the manufacturer. They do not mean the phone is damage-proof, and they do not change warranty terms.

vivo’s India listing and realme’s Philippines listing do not offer the same memory combinations, so a like-for-like comparison is possible only at a matching RAM and storage tier that is sold in your market. The 6GB+128GB vivo variant is the one with a published India price, and there is no matching realme India price to set beside it.

Price difference: what can and cannot be confirmed
- India, vivo Y31 5G: ₹27,999 MRP including taxes for the 6GB+128GB variant, shown on vivo’s India Official E-Store and accessed in 2026. The selected configuration showed as unavailable at that time, so the page confirms a list price, not current stock.
- India, realme 16T 5G: The official realme India product page confirms the model and its feature claims, but the content inspected did not show a verifiable current price.
- Philippines, realme 16T 5G: The realme Philippines specifications page warns that specifications and box contents may vary by market. Its memory configurations and radio details should not be assumed to match India.
A price difference needs one live price for each phone, in the same market, for the same RAM and storage tier, from a seller that has stock. Until a realme India price is confirmed, the difference between these two phones in India is not known.

How to check the price before you buy
- Choose one country and confirm the vivo Y31 5G and realme 16T 5G configurations sold there.
- Match the RAM and storage tier on both sides. If only one side offers that tier, you have no comparable price.
- Open the official store page for each brand, then open the selected configuration and check whether it shows as available.
- Record the price shown with taxes and any offers, and note the date and time of the check.
- Subtract only when both live prices are confirmed for the same configuration and stock status.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the realme 16T 5G if the listed larger battery, the 144Hz maximum refresh rate and the 16MP front camera are the features you weigh most, and you can find a current price in your market.
- Choose the vivo Y31 5G if you need a confirmed India list price on a store page and are comfortable with the 6GB+128GB configuration being unavailable at the time of checking, or if you prefer vivo’s Funtouch OS.
- Wait for the comparison to be decided by price if your market does not offer the same memory tier for both phones, or if you need a verified price gap for a purchase decision.
Limits of this comparison
- No device testing was carried out for this article. All performance, battery, camera and charging statements are manufacturer claims or listed specifications.
- Detailed realme specifications come from the Philippines edition, while realme India was used for India-market claims. Regional differences remain.
- Store prices and stock change frequently. The vivo India figure reflects a 2026 check of a page that showed the selected variant as unavailable.
- Battery endurance, camera quality, performance and update support need independent evidence before they can be treated as settled.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
