Motorola’s US support page calls the Edge 70 Fusion’s panel a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED. A separate regional Motorola product page specifies a 1.5K display and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Together, those details position the cited Edge variant above the Y31 5G in display type and processor class. They do not establish the exact configuration sold in every country, so verify your target-market page.

vivo Europe lists a 6.72-inch, 120 Hz LCD with 2408 × 1080 resolution and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. That gives the Y31 5G a high-refresh-rate screen on the cited page, but it remains an LCD rather than the AMOLED described by Motorola. The figures are useful for identifying the hardware trade-off; they are not a substitute for a side-by-side screen or speed test.

Battery and charging
vivo Europe lists the Y31 5G with a 6500 mAh typical battery and 44W charging. Its page notes that Austria and Spain (Amazon) may have a 5200 mAh typical-capacity variant, so check the listing for the country and seller rather than assuming every unit has the larger battery. The cited Motorola pages do not establish comparable battery or charging figures.
Camera hardware
The vivo Europe specification page lists a 50 MP + 2 MP rear camera system and a 32 MP front camera. The cited Motorola sources do not provide comparable camera specifications, and megapixel counts alone would not establish which phone takes better photos.

Ingress protection

What is the price difference?
A current price difference cannot be calculated from the available price evidence. Motorola News Mexico announced a starting price of MXN 10,999 for the Edge 70 Fusion in 2026; that is a regional launch figure, not a live retail quote. For a useful local comparison, check the phones at the same retailer or market and match RAM and storage as closely as possible. Include delivery, taxes, discounts and warranty coverage in the comparison; a launch price in Mexico cannot answer what either phone costs now in another country.
Check the exact regional version before buying
- Keep the vivo model name exact. The comparison is with the vivo Y31 5G. vivo’s global page for the separate, non-5G Y31 lists a Snapdragon 662, 5000 mAh battery and 18W charging; those figures should not be substituted for the Y31 5G. vivo Global Y31 page
- Confirm configuration. vivo Europe lists 6 GB + 256 GB and a Spain-only 6 GB + 512 GB option, and notes that specifications or configurations may vary by supplier or production batch. The cited Motorola product page says up to 8 GB RAM; check your country’s exact storage and memory option.
- Check network and support locally. The cited pages do not establish carrier-band compatibility, software-update commitments, warranty coverage or local service terms for your specific market. Verify those with the manufacturer or carrier before ordering.
- Check what is in the box. vivo says its Y31 5G box includes a phone case and protective film. The cited evidence does not establish Edge 70 Fusion box contents, so check the local package listing rather than assuming accessories are included or required.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Motorola if display and chipset matter most
The Edge 70 Fusion is the better fit if the AMOLED panel and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 listed on Motorola’s regional pages match the variant sold where you live. Make the choice only after confirming local memory, storage, price and support details.

Choose the vivo if its listed battery and protection fit your priorities
The Y31 5G is worth considering if a large listed battery, 44W charging and vivo Europe’s IP ratings matter more to you than the cited Motorola display and processor advantages. Confirm that your local unit has the battery capacity and configuration you expect.
