The vivo X300 Ultra and POCO F9 Ultra list the same chipset, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, so the real differences lie in what each maker emphasizes. vivo builds its pitch around a triple ZEISS-branded camera system with optional telephoto extenders. POCO leads with a high-refresh display, a larger typical battery and gaming features. A reliable price difference cannot be stated yet, because the official pages reviewed do not give a same-market, same-configuration price for both phones.
Processor and graphics
Both manufacturers name Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 on their official pages, built on a 3nm process. vivo’s China specification page lists the CPU clocks as 4.6GHz for two cores and 3.62GHz for six cores (vivo China specifications). POCO adds a VisionBoost D8 dedicated graphics chipset (POCO F9 Ultra specifications).
A shared chip name does not guarantee equal performance over a long gaming session. Cooling design, memory configuration and software tuning all shape sustained speed. POCO’s gaming performance figures come from its own internal testing and vary by title (POCO F9 Ultra product page). No independent side-by-side benchmark of the two phones is established here.

Display
POCO lists a 6.9-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2608 × 1200 and a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. Its footnote gives the full rectangle as about 6.85 inches. The 185Hz figure is a maximum: the refresh rate a game or app actually reaches depends on the content and the frame rate it delivers, and POCO’s frame-rate claims apply to selected titles under its own test conditions.

The official vivo pages reviewed do not state a display specification for the X300 Ultra. This article therefore does not compare panel size, resolution or refresh rate between the two phones. Check vivo’s current specification page for that figure.
Cameras
The two camera systems are built differently. vivo uses three lenses at 14mm, 35mm and 85mm focal lengths, each with a 50MP or 200MP sensor. POCO uses a 200MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide.
| Camera role | vivo X300 Ultra | POCO F9 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Ultra-wide | 14mm, 50MP, Sony LYTIA 818 (vivo Global product page) | 50MP, 17mm-equivalent |
| Main | 35mm, 200MP, Sony LYTIA 901, described as the documentary camera | 200MP with OIS |
| Telephoto | 85mm, 200MP, Ultra-Sensing HP0, APO telephoto | 50MP periscope, 120mm-equivalent, with OIS |
| Optional telephoto extenders | ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 (200mm-equivalent) and Gen 2 Ultra (400mm-equivalent), listed as optional accessories | None listed on the official pages reviewed |
| Rear video | Multi-focal 4K at 120fps with 10-bit Log and Dolby Vision, per vivo’s claims | 8K at 30fps; 4K up to 60fps |
Telephoto extenders
The extenders are optional accessories. The official pages reviewed do not establish whether any sales kit includes them, so confirm the contents of the specific package you are considering before assuming reach beyond the built-in telephoto.

What the specifications can and cannot tell you
The table shows design choices, not image quality. vivo puts two 200MP cameras on its main and telephoto positions and adds accessories for longer reach. POCO gives its telephoto a 50MP periscope design. Which phone produces better photographs requires matched shooting tests, and none is established for these two models in this article.
Battery and charging
| Item | vivo X300 Ultra | POCO F9 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Typical capacity | 6600mAh (vivo China page) | 8050mAh (POCO specifications page) |
| Rated capacity | 6395mAh (vivo China page) | Not stated on the POCO pages reviewed |
| Wired charging | 100W | 100W |
| Wireless charging | 40W | 50W |
POCO has the larger stated battery, and its wireless charging rating is higher. Compare typical figures with typical figures and rated with rated, because the two labels describe different values. POCO’s two-day battery claim comes from its own simulated test, and POCO notes that results vary with use (POCO F9 Ultra product page). These are rated specifications, not measured endurance results for either phone.
Size, weight and water resistance
| Item | vivo X300 Ultra | POCO F9 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensions | 162.98 × 76.81mm | 163.49 × 77.94mm |
| Thickness | 8.19mm or 8.49mm, depending on color | 8.74mm |
| Weight | 232g or 237g, depending on color | 235g |
| Water resistance | Not stated on the official vivo pages reviewed | IP68 under POCO’s stated laboratory conditions; POCO advises against beach or pool use |
POCO’s IP68 rating describes the test conditions in its footnote. It is not a licence for unrestricted water exposure.

Price difference
vivo publishes China suggested prices by configuration. The vivo China page lists a March 2026 launch month for these prices:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →| vivo X300 Ultra configuration | Suggested price (CNY) |
|---|---|
| 12GB + 256GB | 6,999 |
| 12GB + 512GB | 7,499 |
| 16GB + 512GB | 7,999 |
| 16GB + 1TB, satellite edition | 8,999 |
| 16GB + 1TB, photographer kit | 11,999 |
These are suggested retail prices in China, not street prices. The satellite and photographer editions differ in bundle as well as storage, so they are not like-for-like with the base model.
The official POCO pages reviewed show no price for the same market and configuration, so there is no POCO figure to set against the vivo prices. TechRadar’s UK review of the POCO F9 Ultra, dated 15 September 2026, reports UK pricing, but its page shows conflicting price figures, so this article does not quote one from it (TechRadar review).

To work out a real price difference, follow these steps:
- Choose one market and currency, such as the official vivo and POCO stores in the same country.
- Match the RAM and storage configuration on both sides, and record which POCO configurations are offered.
- Note whether each listing is the base model or a bundle, and whether accessories such as telephoto extenders are included.
- Record the date, the tax treatment and any promotion conditions.
- Compare the final prices, not the headline figures.
Which phone fits your priorities
- Choose the vivo X300 Ultra if camera hardware and reach come first: three ZEISS-branded rear cameras, a 85mm-class telephoto and optional 200mm and 400mm-equivalent extenders.
- Choose the POCO F9 Ultra if display refresh, battery capacity and wireless charging matter more: a display of up to 185Hz, an 8050mAh typical battery and 50W wireless charging.
- Let local pricing decide between two phones that fit your needs equally well, but only after completing the price checks above.
Limits of this comparison
Every figure in this article comes from manufacturer pages, which state their own claims and test conditions. The vivo figures are from the China and global product pages, and the POCO figures are from its undated global pages reviewed in early October 2026. No independent head-to-head camera, gaming or battery test of these two models is established here. Readers who need proof of image quality or sustained performance should look for independent side-by-side reviews.
