The vivo X300 Ultra is the larger phone, with a 6.82-inch 1–144 Hz display, a four-camera rear array and optional telephoto accessories. Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro is smaller at 6.3 inches, has a 48 MP triple-camera system with a variable-aperture main camera, and starts at $1,199 in the US. The prices in the available official listings are from different markets and storage tiers, so they do not establish a direct price difference.

The X300 Ultra is the choice for a substantially larger, higher-resolution panel on paper: 6.82 inches and 3168 × 1440, versus the iPhone 18 Pro’s 6.3 inches and 2622 × 1206. vivo lists adaptive refresh from 1 to 144 Hz; Apple lists ProMotion adaptive refresh up to 120 Hz. A higher listed refresh ceiling does not by itself establish a better viewing experience, and the figures are not independent brightness or display-quality tests.

The size difference also affects handling. vivo lists the X300 Ultra at 232–237 g depending on color, compared with Apple’s 211 g iPhone 18 Pro. Anyone prioritizing a lighter, narrower phone has the more compact option in the iPhone; people who want more screen area should consider the vivo’s larger body as well as its display.
How do their camera systems differ?
vivo: more listed sensors and optional long-range accessories
vivo lists a 200 MP + 50 MP + 200 MP + 5 MP rear array and a 50 MP front camera on its global specification page. The global page also lists modes such as Pro Photo, Pro Video, underwater, spatial camera and street photography. vivo notes that pixel values can vary by mode and use; sensor resolution alone cannot show which phone produces better photos or video.
The X300 Ultra’s distinctive proposition is its optional accessory system. vivo describes a 200 mm-equivalent ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 and a 400 mm-equivalent ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, as well as an Imaging Grip Kit with a built-in 2,300 mAh battery. The extenders and grip are not included with every phone purchase. vivo says advanced grip features require an OTA update, and that the 400 mm focal length applies with the lens attached. Check local availability and the precise package contents before buying.
Apple: variable aperture on the main camera
Apple lists a 48 MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, alongside 48 MP ultra-wide and telephoto cameras, and an 18 MP front camera. Apple says the main camera can select ƒ/1.48, ƒ/1.8, ƒ/2.8 or ƒ/4.0 aperture options, and describes this feature for low-light and depth-of-field use cases. Those are Apple’s product descriptions, not independent findings about image quality.

The practical distinction is the approach: vivo emphasizes high-resolution sensors and attachable telephoto optics, while Apple highlights variable aperture on its main camera and a three-camera 48 MP rear system. Neither megapixel counts nor accessory specifications prove a universal camera winner; the right fit depends on the kinds of shots and setup a buyer wants.
Battery capacity, charging and endurance are not a direct match
vivo specifies a 6,600 mAh typical battery capacity and 6,395 mAh rated capacity, with up to 100 W wired and 40 W wireless FlashCharge. vivo says charging power varies with use; its stated 40 W wireless charging requires compatible equipment.
Apple does not provide a comparable mAh capacity in the cited launch material. It says eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro models deliver up to 36 hours of video playback, and that the phone can reach 50 percent charge in around 15 minutes with compatible charging equipment. Apple’s charging tests used July 2026 preproduction units and specified cables and adapters; results vary. Capacity, playback time and charging speed measure different things, so they cannot support a simple battery-life ranking.
What is the price difference?
The verified starting prices are for different markets and configurations. vivo China lists recommended prices beginning at ¥6,999 for the 12 GB + 256 GB model. Apple announced a US starting price of $1,199 for iPhone 18 Pro. Because one is a China price for a 256 GB configuration and the other is a US starting price, converting the currencies would not produce a fair like-for-like comparison.

The vivo figures are China recommended prices, not globally applicable or necessarily current transaction prices. Apple’s price is its announced US starting price. For a useful local comparison, compare current official prices in the buyer’s country at the same storage tier, and account for taxes, promotions, warranty coverage and whether camera accessories are included. Apple announced availability beginning September 18, 2026; vivo’s China page identifies the model as released in March 2026.

The global vivo page lists Android 16 and OriginOS 6; its China and India listings may differ in configuration and presentation. The India shop lists a 16 GB + 512 GB variant. Before purchasing an imported or region-specific vivo model, confirm network bands, eSIM support with the local carrier, warranty service and software availability for the exact variant.
Apple lists iOS 27 for iPhone 18 Pro. Apple notes regional rollout limits at launch for some Siri AI features in the EU and for Apple Reference Image capture in the EU and China. Availability can change, so verify the current feature status for the buyer’s location rather than assuming every advertised feature is active everywhere.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the vivo X300 Ultra if you want a larger, higher-resolution display, its listed high-capacity battery, or the option to build an imaging setup around separately sold telephoto extenders and a grip. Confirm that the required model and accessories are available and supported in your region.
- Choose the iPhone 18 Pro if you prefer a smaller and lighter phone, use iOS and Apple’s ecosystem, or want Apple’s described variable-aperture main camera and its camera feature set.
- Decide on price only after matching the market and storage. The documented China vivo prices and US Apple price are not a direct comparison, and accessory bundles can change the total cost.
There is no independent head-to-head test here to establish a winner for camera quality, battery endurance or sustained performance. These specification differences support a choice based on size, camera approach, software ecosystem and the buyer’s local price—not a universal ranking.
