The vivo X300 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are both camera-focused flagships, but each maker presents its hardware differently. On published specifications, Xiaomi leads with a 1-inch main sensor and a telephoto lens with mechanical zoom from 75mm to 100mm. vivo leads with a 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto and a larger listed battery, 6510mAh against Xiaomi’s 6000mAh typical figure. Those are spec-sheet differences, not proof of which phone takes better photos or lasts longer day to day.
The price difference is harder to state. The only dated Xiaomi price available is a China launch price from December 2025, and there is no current, same-country, same-storage price pair for the two phones. Any gap you see quoted should be checked against local listings before you rely on it.
Specifications side by side
The table below uses the figures each manufacturer publishes. Xiaomi’s product specification is current as of February 2026. vivo’s X300 Pro global product page does not state a publication date, so treat its figures as the version it describes and confirm them against your region’s listing.

|---|---|---|---|
| Main camera | Marketed as a ZEISS Gimbal-Grade main camera; the parameter page lists f/1.57. | 50MP Leica main camera, 1-inch sensor, f/1.67, OIS. | Sensor size and aperture are hardware figures, not image-quality results. |
| Telephoto | 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto; vivo also describes a compatible Grip Kit. | 200MP Leica telephoto with mechanical zoom from 75mm to 100mm; Xiaomi cites up to 17.2x optical-level zoom. | The two approaches to reach a long focal length are different and need side-by-side sample shots to judge. |
| Ultra-wide | Not stated on the global product page reviewed. | 50MP, 14mm-equivalent, 115-degree field of view. | Check vivo’s regional specification table for sensor details. |

Camera hardware
Camera hardware is where the two phones differ most, and it is also where a spec sheet says the least about results. The points below are what each manufacturer states.

Main camera
Xiaomi’s main camera is the more specific of the two published descriptions: a 50MP Leica unit with a 1-inch sensor, f/1.67 aperture and optical image stabilization. A larger sensor generally gathers more light, but how it performs depends on processing, tuning and lighting, none of which a spec sheet measures. vivo describes its main camera as ZEISS Gimbal-Grade and lists f/1.57 on its parameter page. That is a brighter lens than Xiaomi’s f/1.67, but the sensor size is not stated in the same way, so the two main cameras cannot be ranked from these figures alone.
Telephoto
Both phones use a 200MP telephoto, which makes resolution a poor point of difference. The meaningful difference is how each reaches its focal length. Xiaomi uses mechanical optical movement across 75mm to 100mm, which lets the lens shift between focal lengths rather than rely only on cropping. vivo’s 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto is marketed for its optics and works with the Grip Kit. If telephoto work matters to you, compare sample images at the same distance and light level before you decide.
Ultra-wide
Xiaomi publishes a 50MP ultra-wide with a 14mm-equivalent focal length and 115-degree field of view. The vivo global product page reviewed does not give a matching ultra-wide sensor or field-of-view figure, so this row cannot be compared directly. Check vivo’s regional specification table for your market before drawing a conclusion.

Battery and charging
vivo lists a 6510mAh battery with up to 90W wired charging. Xiaomi lists a 6000mAh typical capacity with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. On paper, vivo has the larger battery and Xiaomi has the wireless option. Neither figure predicts how long the phone lasts, because runtime depends on screen settings, network conditions, workload and the phone’s power management. Treat these numbers as the maximum each company advertises, not a test result.

Display and chipset
The two phones have similar display sizes on the manufacturers’ figures: 6.78 inches for vivo and 6.9 inches for Xiaomi. Xiaomi’s global product page adds a 2608 × 1200 resolution and a 1–120Hz refresh range. vivo’s resolution is not stated on the page reviewed. The chipsets differ too: the vivo uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9500, and the Xiaomi uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Those are different platforms, but the manufacturer pages do not include a comparable speed, thermal or gaming test, so no performance winner can be named from them.

Price depends on country, date, storage configuration and seller, and the sources for these two phones do not line up on all four. The figures below should be read as separate data points, not as a comparison.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra: China launch prices
Xiaomi’s launch announcement dated December 25, 2025 said the Xiaomi 17 Ultra would go on sale in China on December 27, 2025. It listed these starting prices:

- 16GB + 512GB: RMB 7,499

Those are launch prices for China on that date. They are not global prices, and they may no longer apply. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica edition had its own, separate launch pricing.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: global and India
Xiaomi’s global FAQ gives February 28, 2026 as the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s global launch date. Xiaomi India’s official specification page lists a 16GB + 512GB configuration and directs readers to the local official site for pricing. No India price is stated on the page reviewed.
vivo X300 Pro: India store listing
vivo India’s official store lists the X300 Pro in a 16GB + 512GB configuration. The listing does not provide a price that can be matched to the Chinese Xiaomi figures or to a Xiaomi India price for the same storage tier, so no like-for-like gap can be calculated from these sources.
How to find a fair price comparison
- Choose your country and check that both phones are sold there through official channels.
- Match storage exactly. Compare 16GB + 512GB with 16GB + 512GB, and do not compare a 1TB model with a 512GB model.
- Open vivo’s official store for your country and note the current X300 Pro price for that storage tier and any listed launch offer, with its date and end date.
- Open Xiaomi’s official site for your country and note the Xiaomi 17 Ultra price for the same storage tier, again with its date.
- Check that the two prices include the same warranty, tax and bundle, and that neither is a limited-time promotion you cannot repeat.
- Subtract only after the first six steps match. If a price is missing for either phone in your country, that is the answer for your purchase.
Accessories
Both manufacturers sell optional camera accessories. vivo’s Grip Kit is designed for the X300 Pro. Xiaomi’s Photography Kit Pro is sold separately for the 17 Ultra. Before buying either, confirm the kit contents, whether it is sold in your country, and whether it fits your exact model. Accessory availability changes by region and over time.

- Choose the vivo X300 Pro if the larger listed battery, the ZEISS-branded telephoto and the Grip Kit are the features you care about most, and its local price is lower for the storage you want.
- Choose the Xiaomi 17 Ultra if you want the 1-inch main sensor, the mechanically zooming telephoto, wireless charging, or a 14mm-equivalent ultra-wide, and its local price is acceptable.
- Do not choose on specs alone. Compare sample photos from both phones in the lighting you shoot in most, and check local stock and warranty terms before you buy.
Specifications set the starting point, but they do not settle this comparison. The camera hardware and battery figures favor different buyers, and the price answer depends entirely on your country and storage tier.
The Bottom Line
For specs alone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has the stronger published main-camera and wireless-charging story, while the vivo X300 Pro has the larger listed battery and a ZEISS-branded 200MP telephoto. No winner on photo quality, speed or endurance is established by manufacturer data. For price, use local official listings for the same storage tier rather than the December 2025 China launch figures.
