The vivo X500 Pro is the newer, smaller and lighter model, while the X300 Pro has a larger, higher-resolution screen and a lower China starting price. At the matching 12 GB + 256 GB tier, vivo lists the X300 Pro at CNY 5,599 and the X500 Pro at CNY 6,499—a CNY 900 difference. Neither phone can be declared the camera, battery-life or performance winner from specifications alone.
Price difference and release timing
These prices are China-market manufacturer list prices, not a promise of local retail pricing elsewhere. vivo’s China specifications pages list the following configurations as of October 4, 2026:

The X300 Pro also lists satellite-edition options; the page presents those separately. Compare like-for-like RAM and storage rather than treating the entry-tier gap as a universal premium. vivo announced the X500 series on September 21, 2026, and said X500 Pro sales began September 29; the X300 Pro China page lists October 2025. The X300 Pro’s panel is larger and has more pixels; the X500 Pro lists a higher maximum refresh rate. Those measurements alone do not establish which display looks better, is easier to read outdoors, or feels smoother in every situation. The X500 Pro is shorter, narrower and lighter according to vivo’s listed measurements, with thickness and mass varying by color.

The X500 Pro has the newer listed chipset generation, but the model names and manufacturing-process figures do not quantify real-world speed or power efficiency. Both China pages list the same typical battery capacity; capacity by itself does not predict runtime. vivo notes that actual charging power varies with conditions, so the listed wattage is not a guaranteed charging speed.

These figures describe listed hardware and modes, not comparative image quality. Megapixel counts and digital zoom ceilings cannot establish which phone takes better photos. vivo’s X500 launch material promotes creator-oriented video capabilities, but that is a manufacturer claim rather than independent head-to-head validation. The launch release frames the X500 series as intended to combine high-end creator tools with accessible everyday shooting; that stated ambition is not evidence of measured output quality.

Software and regional differences
Software details should be checked against the market and exact device variant. The X300 Pro global specifications page lists Android 16 and OriginOS 6, while vivo’s X500 series launch material says OriginOS 7. These references do not establish that every regional SKU ships with identical software or that software availability is uniform across markets. Consult the X300 Pro global specifications page and local vivo listings for the version sold where you live.
Which model should you choose?
Choose the X300 Pro if
- You prefer a larger, higher-resolution display.
- The CNY 5,599 China MSRP at 12 GB + 256 GB matters more than the X500 Pro’s newer generation.
Choose the X500 Pro if
- You want the shorter, narrower and lighter body listed by vivo.
- A 144 Hz maximum refresh-rate listing and the newer listed chipset generation are more appealing than the X300 Pro’s larger panel.
- You are interested in the newer imaging and video feature set, while treating launch claims as claims rather than independent test results.
Check before buying
- Confirm local price and exact RAM/storage configuration; the prices above are China MSRP.
- Verify warranty coverage, network bands, carrier support, software version and stock for your region.
Can the specs identify a camera, battery or speed winner?
No. The cited official material provides specifications and promotional claims, not independent side-by-side camera, battery-runtime or performance measurements. A reliable verdict on those outcomes would require comparable testing rather than inference from megapixels, battery capacity or chipset labels.
