The vivo X300 is the imaging-first model. Its official specifications list a 200 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultrawide camera. The vivo X300 FE keeps the same compact premium package, with the same 6.31-inch AMOLED display, 90 W wired and 40 W wireless charging, and IP68/IP69 ratings, but lists a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. Both list a 50 MP telephoto camera.
In practice, choose the X300 if the rear cameras are the reason you are buying, especially if you shoot wide scenes often. Choose the X300 FE if you want the same overall phone shape and charging baseline and can live with a simpler main and ultrawide setup. Before deciding, confirm the battery, memory and network details for your own country, because vivo’s figures change by market.

Cameras: where the two phones really differ
The camera array is the clearest difference on paper. Most of the gap sits in the main and ultrawide sensors, while the telephoto is listed as the same 50 MP class on both phones.
Main camera
The X300 lists a 200 MP main sensor, against 50 MP on the X300 FE. A higher resolution sensor can produce a larger file and allows more cropping, but megapixel count alone does not show how a phone handles colour, dynamic range or low light. Those depend on sensor size, pixel binning, lens and processing, and none of those are compared in vivo’s specifications.
Ultrawide camera
This is the most meaningful listed hardware gap for everyday shooting. The X300’s 50 MP ultrawide compares with 8 MP on the X300 FE. If you often photograph landscapes, architecture or group shots in tight spaces, the X300’s ultrawide is the more capable listed option. The FE’s 8 MP figure does not, on its own, tell you how sharp or detailed its wide shots will be.
Telephoto camera
Both phones list a 50 MP ZEISS telephoto module, so telephoto is not a deciding factor on the specifications. vivo’s pages use slightly different naming: the X300 is described as an APO telephoto, while the X300 FE is described as a ZEISS telephoto. Real telephoto results would need independent side-by-side testing, which is not available in the sources reviewed here.
Processors: Dimensity 9500 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5
The X300 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 and the X300 FE uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The two chips are built on different platforms, so they differ in their design, software support and performance profile. vivo’s pages do not include benchmark scores, sustained-load results or thermal tests that would let you name a winner. If raw speed matters, look for independent reviews that test both chips on the same software build.
Display and build: a shared baseline
Both phones use a 6.31-inch AMOLED panel at 2640 × 1216, with a refresh rate range of 1–120 Hz. The X300 is listed with adaptive LTPO refresh and 4500-nit local peak brightness. The X300 FE is listed at 5000-nit local peak brightness in the pages cited here. Local peak brightness is a short-term, measured peak under vendor test conditions. It is not a measure of how readable the screen is outdoors, and the pages do not say whether the two panels are built the same way.

Both phones are rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance. That rating describes lab conditions and says nothing about how the phone will survive drops or everyday wear.

Battery capacity is the most market-sensitive figure. vivo lists a typical capacity of 6040 mAh for the X300 on its overseas specifications page, with the exception of Europe. On the Austria and Hungary entries the figure is 5360 mAh. The X300 FE is listed at 6500 mAh on its India and Singapore pages.
Those numbers come from different markets and different product pages, so they are not a like-for-like comparison. Do not read the X300 FE’s larger figure as a verdict on battery life. Both phones list 90 W wired and 40 W wireless charging, but charger bundles vary by country, so confirm what is in the box where you buy.
Memory options depend on the market
- The X300 FE India page lists 8 GB + 256 GB and 12 GB + 512 GB.
- The X300 FE Singapore page lists 12 GB + 256 GB.
- These are the configurations on those market pages, not a complete worldwide range.
- For the X300, check the memory options on the vivo page for your own country.
Network bands and SIM configuration
vivo’s X300 global specifications page includes regional network band and SIM information. Those details vary by country, so confirm them against your carrier’s supported bands before buying, especially if you plan to import a unit or use it on a different network from the one where it was sold.
The telephoto extender
vivo names an extender for the X300 FE and an extender kit for the X300. The official pages do not confirm that these accessories are interchangeable, so do not assume one will work on the other phone. If you are interested in long-distance or stage photography, use this checklist before buying:
- Open the accessory page on vivo’s site for your country and note the exact supported phone model.
- Match the model name and SKU on your phone, not just the product family name.
- Confirm whether the accessory is sold separately or included with your phone in your market.
- Check the return policy if the fit or compatibility is unclear.
Which phone fits which priority
- Camera detail and wide-angle shooting: the X300, based on its 200 MP main and 50 MP ultrawide specifications.
- A dedicated telephoto with a compact premium body: both phones list a 50 MP telephoto, so the choice comes down to other factors.
- A simpler camera setup with the same display size and charging baseline: the X300 FE.
- Processor preference: pick based on independent testing of the Dimensity 9500 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in your region, as vivo’s pages do not settle the question.
- Battery capacity in your country: check the market-specific figure on vivo’s local page before comparing the two.
What remains unverified
The sources reviewed for this comparison do not establish current local prices, launch timing, stock, warranty terms or return policies. They also do not contain independent camera tests, real-world battery life or sustained performance measurements. Treat the figures above as manufacturer specifications and confirm the price and warranty with the seller in your market.
