The vivo X300 Ultra is the more camera-specialized of the two. Its rear system is built around 35 mm and 85 mm 200 MP cameras, it has optional ZEISS telephoto extenders, and its official listings show a newer chipset, a larger typical battery and faster wired charging. The X200 Pro is still a strong flagship with its own 200 MP telephoto camera. Which one is the better buy depends on the price in your country, the storage configuration you need, and whether you would actually use the X300 Ultra’s extra focal lengths and accessories. The official material does not support a single, universal price gap between the two phones.
Full specification comparison
The table below uses the official vivo listings available for each phone. The X200 Pro figures come from vivo’s global parameter page, while the X300 Ultra figures come from vivo China, vivo’s global marketing material and the vivo India product page. Where a listing does not give a value, the table says so rather than filling the gap.
| Area | vivo X200 Pro | vivo X300 Ultra | What to note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chipset | MediaTek Dimensity 9400, 3 nm | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 3 nm (vivo India listing) | Different chip families. No benchmark results are established for either phone. |
| Rear cameras | 50 MP, 50 MP and 200 MP | 50 MP 14 mm ultra-wide, 200 MP 35 mm, 200 MP 85 mm telephoto | The X300 Ultra shifts emphasis to high-resolution main and telephoto focal lengths. |
| Telephoto options | 200 MP telephoto camera | 200 MP 85 mm telephoto camera, plus optional 200 mm-equivalent and 400 mm-equivalent ZEISS telephoto extenders | The extenders are sold separately. The X300 Ultra’s long-reach path depends partly on accessories. |
| Display | 6.78-inch AMOLED, 2800 × 1260, 0.1–120 Hz (global parameter page) | 6.82-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color display; China page lists 3168 × 1440 and 144 Hz | The 144 Hz and 3168 × 1440 figures are from the China page, so they may not match the global model. |
| Typical battery | 6000 mAh | 6600 mAh | Typical capacity from the listings. Real-world battery life is not established by these figures. |
| Wired charging | 90 W | 100 W | Maximum rated wattage as listed by vivo. |
| Wireless charging | 30 W in listed named markets | 40 W (global page) | The X200 Pro wireless figure applies only to the markets named in its listing. |
| Software | Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15 (global parameter page) | Android 16 with OriginOS 6 (vivo India page) | Region-specific. Update policy is not stated in these listings. |
| Release timing | Not stated in the listing reviewed | China release month March 2026; global launch planned for later in 2026 | See the availability section below for the current status. |
| Weight and dimensions | Not stated in the listing reviewed | Not stated in the listings reviewed | Check the product page for your market before deciding on size. |
Cameras: what actually changed
Both phones have a 200 MP telephoto camera, so the X300 Ultra is not the first vivo flagship to offer long reach. The difference is how the camera system is organized. The X200 Pro uses a 50 MP, 50 MP and 200 MP rear arrangement with the 200 MP sensor serving as the telephoto. The X300 Ultra lists a 14 mm 50 MP ultra-wide camera, a 35 mm 200 MP camera and an 85 mm 200 MP telephoto camera. Vivo’s listings describe these cameras by focal length rather than by a single “main” label, so the comparison is best read as a change in lens strategy.

On the X200 Pro, the 200 MP telephoto is built in and needs no accessories. For a buyer who wants a telephoto lens without carrying extra hardware, this is the simpler setup.

The X300 Ultra’s telephoto approach
The X300 Ultra adds higher-resolution capture at 35 mm and 85 mm, and its listings describe two optional ZEISS telephoto extenders. The 200 mm-equivalent extender and the 400 mm-equivalent extender are separate purchases, so the phone alone does not provide these reach levels. Vivo’s official material says the grip kit is bought separately, and the photographer kit lists its contents separately. Before counting the extenders as part of the phone, confirm what your chosen package includes.
Price difference: what can and cannot be compared
The only X300 Ultra prices established here are vivo China recommended prices in yuan (CNY), from a 2026 vivo China listing. These are not current street prices in any other country.
| X300 Ultra configuration (vivo China) | Recommended price | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage | CNY 6,999 | Lowest listed phone-only configuration |
| 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage | CNY 7,499 | Phone only |
| 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage | CNY 7,999 | Phone only |
| 16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage, satellite-communication edition | CNY 8,999 | Edition with satellite communication; check whether your market offers it |
| 16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage, photographer kit | CNY 11,999 | A bundle, not the phone alone. Do not compare this with a phone-only price. |
No current local price for the X200 Pro is established in the sources reviewed, so a precise price difference cannot be calculated. The gap also depends on configuration: the phone-only starting price for the X300 Ultra in China is CNY 6,999 at 12 GB and 256 GB, but a 16 GB and 1 TB model costs CNY 8,999 before any bundle.
To work out the real difference in your country:
- Find the current local price for the X200 Pro at the RAM and storage you want.
- Find the X300 Ultra price for the same storage tier in the same country, excluding any bundle or accessory package.
- Compare the warranty, included charger and any extra accessories separately, since they change the effective cost.
- If the X300 Ultra is only available in a bundle in your market, subtract the value of the accessories you would not use before comparing.
Global availability
On March 2, 2026, at MWC Barcelona, vivo said it planned to launch the X300 Ultra in global markets later that year. In its words, vivo “confirmed plans to launch this most advanced X-series model in global markets later this year.” That statement is vivo’s own announcement, and it does not confirm availability or pricing in any particular country. Check the vivo website or a local retailer in your country before assuming the phone is on sale there.

Platform, display, battery and charging in practice
Processor
The X300 Ultra’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is the newer chipset in this comparison, but the listings do not state performance results. Treat the chip difference as a specification difference, not a measured speed advantage.
Display
The X300 Ultra’s display is listed as slightly larger and at a higher resolution. The 144 Hz refresh rate appears only on the China page. The X200 Pro’s listing shows a 0.1–120 Hz range, so check the refresh-rate range on the product page for your market before comparing smoothness.
Battery and charging
The X300 Ultra’s larger typical battery and higher wired and wireless wattage point toward faster charging. Capacity alone does not decide endurance, because screen resolution, chipset efficiency and usage patterns all affect battery life, and none of those effects are measured in the official listings.

The X200 Pro’s global listing shows Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15, while the X300 Ultra’s India listing shows Android 16 with OriginOS 6. These are region-specific product listings. They do not show whether the two phones will receive the same software in every country, and they do not state update schedules. If software matters to you, check the version your local model ships with and the update commitment published for that market.
Quick Recap
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the X300 Ultra if you want the 35 mm and 85 mm high-resolution cameras, you may add ZEISS telephoto extenders, and you can buy the phone at a local price close to the configuration you need.
- Choose the X200 Pro if you want a built-in 200 MP telephoto without accessories, or if the X300 Ultra’s local price is high enough that the newer features do not justify the cost.
- Consider price first if you mainly take everyday photos and do not need extra focal lengths. In that case the accessories and the higher-end configurations add cost without much practical benefit.
- Look at the bundle carefully if you are drawn to the photographer kit. It costs more than the phone-only configurations, and its value depends on whether you would use the grip and extenders.
What this comparison does not establish
- No hands-on testing, benchmark results or camera sample comparisons are included, so image quality and performance are not ranked here.
- No current local price for the X200 Pro is established, so the price difference in your country cannot be stated.
- Country availability for the X300 Ultra is not confirmed beyond vivo’s March 2026 announcement of a planned global launch.
- Some X300 Ultra details, such as the 144 Hz refresh rate, come only from the China page and may differ in other regions.
