There is no single winner until you choose the Samsung generation and your country. “Samsung Galaxy Z Fold” is not a specific model: the available current-generation comparison candidate is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, while Samsung’s official Galaxy Z Fold6 announcement describes a different, 2024 phone. For a buyer considering the vivo X Fold6 and the Z Fold 8 Ultra, the choice hinges on regional availability and service, price, and which specifications matter most—not on a verified head-to-head test.

Which Samsung Galaxy Z Fold does this comparison mean?

This article uses the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra as the comparison candidate because an Android Central comparison published August 3, 2026 discusses that model. Its reported specifications and US pricing are secondary-source claims, not Samsung specifications independently confirmed here. If you meant the Galaxy Z Fold6, do not use the 2026 figures below as a proxy: Samsung’s official 2024 announcement lists that earlier model with a 7.6-inch main display and a 6.3-inch cover display.

That distinction matters because “Galaxy Z Fold” covers multiple generations, and availability of the Z Fold 8 Ultra in every reader’s country is not established. Check the exact model and current local listing before treating the comparison as a purchasing decision.

How the vivo X Fold6 and Z Fold 8 Ultra compare on reported specifications

The table puts the available figures side by side, but they come from different regions and sources. Vivo’s China and Europe product pages list different configurations and details; the Samsung candidate’s figures come from Android Central. A blank of comparable information is identified rather than guessed.

United States

Android Central reported a US price starting at $2,099.99 for the Z Fold 8 Ultra, with an August 7, 2026 retail date. That report does not establish current pricing or availability in other countries. The sources here do not provide a comparable same-country, same-date offer for both phones, so the figures cannot show which is cheaper for you.

What the hardware figures do—and do not—tell you

Size, weight, and screen use

The available figures put the X Fold6 at 228 or 235 g depending on color and the Z Fold 8 Ultra at a reported 215 g. On those listed figures, the Samsung candidate is lighter, but the measurement sources are not a controlled comparison. Vivo’s China page provides folded and unfolded body dimensions; comparable Samsung dimensions are not stated in the cited comparison. The reported Samsung screen dimensions are 8 inches inside and 6.5 inches outside, while comparable X Fold6 screen dimensions are not established here. You cannot infer which is easier to carry, hold, or use one-handed from screen size alone.

Cameras and the optional telephoto extender

Vivo Europe lists three rear cameras: 200 MP main, 50 MP telephoto, and 50 MP ultra-wide. Those are hardware specifications, not evidence of better image quality than Samsung’s. The cited Samsung comparison does not state its camera specifications, and no equivalent photo test is available here.

  • Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones

A Cinco Días report dated October 1, 2026 says the X Fold6 supports the vivo ZEISS Gen 2 telephoto extender, describing it as providing a 200 mm-equivalent optical focal length. The report also lists the photography bundle price above. Treat the extender as a reported compatible accessory, not proof of camera superiority; confirm local availability and exactly what a bundle contains before ordering.

Battery, charging, and software

Vivo Europe lists a 6,900 mAh equivalent typical capacity and 80 W wired and 40 W wireless FlashCharge; Android Central reports a 5,000 mAh battery for the Samsung candidate. The figures use different sources, and capacity alone cannot predict runtime. Neither cited source establishes comparable endurance measurements. Charging wattage likewise does not provide a like-for-like charge-time result.

Vivo Europe lists OriginOS 7 Fold and Android 17. A stated software-update commitment for either phone is not established in the cited material. If you plan to keep a foldable for several years, look up the exact regional support policy rather than inferring longevity from the operating-system version.

Choose by local ownership, not a spec-sheet winner

The right choice depends on details that the available specifications cannot settle: the Samsung generation you mean, your country’s actual prices and stock, network compatibility, warranty, repair access, and the software support commitment for that regional model. Verify those details with the relevant local seller or manufacturer before paying, especially if considering a model sold outside your market.

  • Consider the X Fold6 if it is officially sold where you live, its local warranty and repair arrangements suit you, and its listed camera setup, battery capacity, or charging options match your priorities. Do not assume the European software and rating specifications apply to every region.
  • Consider the Z Fold 8 Ultra if that is the intended Samsung generation and you can confirm its local availability and terms. The reported 8-inch inner display, 6.5-inch outer display, and 215 g weight may be relevant to your preferences, but they do not establish a better overall experience.
  • Compare actual local offers with the same storage tier, taxes, included accessories, warranty, and seller conditions. China list prices, a Spanish introductory price, and a US starting price are not directly comparable.
  • Ask for evidence that matters to you if camera quality, battery life, or durability will decide the purchase: a specification sheet cannot substitute for comparable tests or a clear local repair policy.
