The Vivo X Fold 6 makes a compelling case as a camera-first foldable: TechRadar contributor Luke Baker says he generally prefers its photos to those from his own iPhone 18 Pro, and reports that it weighs 19 g less than the iPhone Duo. Those are two different comparisons, though. Baker had not tried the Duo, so his camera preference is not a direct Vivo-versus-Duo test.
What the camera comparison actually shows
In his October 1, 2026 TechRadar review, Luke Baker says he generally prefers the X Fold 6’s photos to those from his iPhone 18 Pro. He also writes: “I’ve tested almost every foldable phone in 2026, and so far, I reckon Vivo’s photos and videos are probably the best.” That is one reviewer’s judgment, not a controlled comparison or a universal finding. Baker says in the same passage that he has not tried the iPhone Duo.
The review reports a 200 MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera and a telephoto camera. Vivo’s Zeiss collaboration, T* lens coatings and co-developed picture styles are also part of the camera pitch. The review does not provide standardized image tests or enough detail to establish that the Vivo will outperform another phone in every scene.
Baker also says the X Fold 6 supports the same external teleconverter lens as the X300 Ultra. The review does not identify the accessory model or establish its availability and compatibility conditions, so buyers should confirm those details before treating the teleconverter as a practical part of the package.

How much lighter is it than the iPhone Duo?
The review reports the Vivo X Fold 6 at 235 g and the iPhone Duo at 254 g: a 19 g difference, with the Vivo lighter in that comparison. These are figures reported by TechRadar, rather than independently verified specifications here. The weight comparison does not imply that Baker personally tested the Duo; he explicitly says he had not.
Foldable design and multitasking
The X Fold 6 is a book-style foldable. Its cover screen is intended for regular phone use, while unfolding reveals a larger, tablet-like display. Baker says its software can show up to four resizable apps in split view alongside a fifth floating window.

The review contrasts this with reports that the iPhone Duo offers only a fixed, non-resizable 50/50 split. That comparison is attributed to other reports, not to Baker’s own testing of the Duo, so it should not be read as a hands-on Vivo-versus-Duo assessment.
Battery and charging
TechRadar reports a 6,900 mAh battery, wired charging up to 80 W and wireless charging up to 40 W. Baker says he got about two days from a charge while using the large screen heavily and taking many photos. That is his usage experience, not a standardized battery-life test or a promise of two-day runtime for every owner.

Review-reported drawbacks
- Unfolding delay: Baker reports a blank-screen pause after unfolding before the interface appears.
- Background apps: He says apps may be closed in the background to save battery unless settings are adjusted.
- Crease: He describes the inner-screen crease as minimal but still visible.
Availability and support matter
The review says the X Fold 6 will not launch in the UK or US and is expected to be sold in select European markets. Baker, writing from the UK, says a buyer there would need to import it from elsewhere in Europe or buy a Chinese model. He warns that importing could mean missing local contract deals and having to handle a fault without local support. This is time-sensitive availability information reported by TechRadar on October 1, 2026; it was not independently confirmed against Vivo or retailer listings.
For a high-priced foldable, regional availability affects more than where to place an order. Before importing, check the seller’s warranty terms, who handles repairs, whether the model supports the services and networks you need, and what recourse applies if the device arrives faulty. Who should consider the Vivo X Fold 6?
The review makes the strongest case for someone who values a versatile camera system, a large inner display with flexible multitasking, and a comparatively light reported weight. It is less persuasive for a buyer who needs straightforward local purchasing and support in the UK or US, or who expects a perfectly seamless unfolding experience. The photo preference is Baker’s personal comparison with his iPhone 18 Pro; it is not evidence of a direct camera contest with the iPhone Duo.
