The vivo V50e is a good fit for buyers who value portraits and selfies, a slim curved-screen design, a bright 120Hz AMOLED display, and fast charging. Its 50MP main camera is the stronger rear shooter, while the 8MP ultra-wide and low-light performance are less convincing. The Dimensity 7300 is adequate for everyday use, but buyers seeking extra gaming headroom should look elsewhere. Whether it is worth buying depends heavily on the price of the exact storage variant available to you.
What is the vivo V50e, and who is it for?
The V50e is an India-market 5G phone available with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB storage. vivo pairs a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor with Funtouch OS 15. Its central appeal is a combination of portrait and selfie features, a slim build, a large AMOLED screen, and a high-capacity battery—not class-leading performance across every category.
It makes the most sense for someone who takes people-focused photos, wants a large high-refresh display, and values fast charging. It is a less natural choice if demanding games, detailed ultra-wide shots, or dependable low-light photography are priorities.

The 6.77-inch AMOLED display has a resolution of 2392 × 1080 and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. vivo lists a local peak brightness of 1800 nits; that is a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee that the entire screen sustains that brightness in every setting. The large, curved display and slim, lightweight design were among the qualities praised by both reviewers.

The high refresh rate can make scrolling and supported animations look smoother than on a standard-refresh display. The trade-off is that a 6.77-inch screen may be cumbersome for people who prefer compact phones, and curved edges are a matter of taste.
Camera review: good portrait promise, uneven supporting cameras
On the rear, vivo specifies a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP wide-angle camera. The front camera is 50MP. The company promotes portrait focal-length modes, Eye AF for group selfies, Aura Light, and 4K recording on the front and rear cameras. Those are feature and resolution claims; megapixels alone do not establish image quality.
Main camera and portraits
91mobiles found the primary camera capable of natural-looking results, rather than color that appears heavily exaggerated. Its review also found that the main camera can lose detail in low light. India Today described the camera as capable. Together, those assessments make the main camera the safest part of the V50e’s camera proposition, especially for casual people-focused photography, rather than a guarantee of strong results in every scene.

Ultra-wide and low-light limits
The 8MP ultra-wide is the more obvious compromise: 91mobiles noted noticeable noise in darker areas and said ultra-wide and low-light images could use improvement. If you often photograph interiors, night scenes, or wide landscapes and expect fine detail across the frame, treat this as a meaningful limitation.
Selfies and video features
The 50MP front camera and portrait-oriented tools suit buyers who take frequent selfies or group photos. vivo also lists 4K video recording for both front and rear cameras. These specifications describe available features, not independent evidence that selfie or video quality beats competing phones.
Performance: capable for routine use, not a gaming-first pick
The Dimensity 7300 is a 4nm octa-core processor, paired here with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Independent reviewers found everyday performance adequate for activities such as browsing, streaming, scrolling, and gaming, but 91mobiles said the phone lacked the performance punch power users may want. That makes it a reasonable everyday device, not the obvious choice for sustained demanding games or buyers who prioritize maximum performance headroom.

Storage is not expandable, so choose between 128GB and 256GB with your photo, video, app, and offline-media needs in mind. Check the selected variant before purchase rather than assuming a memory card can make up the difference.
Battery and charging: large capacity with fast wired charging
vivo lists a 5600mAh typical battery capacity and a 5490mAh rated capacity, plus 90W wired charging. The phone does not support wireless charging. The company’s store listing says a charger is included in the box.
In 91mobiles’ review-unit tests, the phone lasted 15 hours and 8 minutes in PCMark’s battery test, about 40 minutes less than the V40e in that publication’s comparison. Using the included charger, the review unit went from 20% to 100% in 42 minutes. These are specific test results, not a prediction of how long every owner’s battery will last; screen settings, signal, apps, and workload affect real-world runtime.

Durability and software support
vivo lists IP68 and IP69 dust- and water-resistance ratings. Its April 2025 launch announcement says the phone can survive immersion in fresh water beyond 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. That is a manufacturer claim with stated conditions, not permission to deliberately expose the phone to water. Water resistance can be affected by wear or damage, and the claim does not cover every liquid or circumstance.
In the same launch announcement, vivo committed to three generations of Android upgrades and up to four years of software and security updates. This is the manufacturer’s stated support commitment, not an independent assessment of delivery. India Today listed spam notifications from vivo apps as a con in its review; that is one reviewer’s experience and does not establish that every owner will see the same notification behaviour.

Price and availability: check the exact variant
vivo announced an India launch price starting at INR 28,999 in April 2025. When checked in 2026, the official store page for the 8GB+256GB Pearl White variant displayed an MRP of INR 35,999 and marked that selected item unavailable. These figures refer to different dates and, in the store case, a specific variant; neither establishes the current street price or availability of every configuration.

Before buying, verify the price and stock for the exact 8GB+128GB or 8GB+256GB version. At a price that makes you choose between the V50e’s portrait/display strengths and a more performance-focused phone, compare current same-storage-tier offers rather than relying on the historical launch price.
Should you buy the vivo V50e?
Choose the V50e if you want an India-market 5G phone with a polished large display, slim curved design, portrait and selfie features, fast wired charging, and a main camera reviewers found capable. Its case weakens if you need strong gaming headroom, consistently detailed low-light images, or a capable ultra-wide camera. At purchase time, compare alternatives using the same storage tier and current price, then weigh performance, camera detail, display preferences, battery and charging, water protection, and update policy.
India Today and 91mobiles each rated the V50e 7.5/10 in their 2025 reviews. Those are publication-specific judgments; the more useful takeaway is the split they reflect: appealing design, display, and everyday strengths, balanced against camera and performance compromises.
