The vivo V80 is the newer, higher-priced option in India, while the V50 has a larger screen. At launch, the 8GB+128GB V80 cost ₹62,999 versus ₹34,999 for the same V50 configuration—a ₹28,000 difference. The V80 lists a sharper, faster-refresh display, a newer Snapdragon chip, a larger stated battery and a ZEISS telephoto camera feature set. Whether those changes justify the premium depends on your priorities; the official specifications do not establish real-world performance or image quality.

What is the price difference between the vivo V50 and V80?
At launch in India, the matching 8GB+128GB configurations were ₹34,999 for the V50 and ₹62,999 for the V80, a difference of ₹28,000. These are launch prices, not a quote for today’s transaction price. The V50 launch prices were announced in vivo India’s February 17, 2025 release; V80 prices appeared in its October 6, 2026 release.

The 8GB+256GB launch prices were ₹36,999 for V50 and ₹69,999 for V80, a ₹33,000 gap. Both cited configurations have 8GB RAM. At the top storage tier, the comparison is less direct: V50 is listed as 12GB+512GB for ₹40,999, while V80 is 8GB+512GB for ₹79,999.

Retailer, bank, UPI, exchange and EMI offers can alter the amount payable, and vivo’s V80 release described launch-period benefits with platform-specific and time-limited terms. Check the seller’s current listing and offer conditions before comparing totals. A vivo shop snapshot showed the V50 8GB+256GB at ₹42,999 but marked that selection unavailable; it is not a verified street price and should not be compared as though it were a current V80 sale price. How do the screens differ?
The V50 has the larger diagonal: 6.77 inches against the V80’s 6.59 inches. The V80’s listed resolution is higher at 2750 × 1260, compared with 2392 × 1080 for the V50, and its maximum refresh rate is 144 Hz rather than 120 Hz. vivo qualifies that 144 Hz support is available only in selected applications, so it should not be assumed for every app or use case.

Choose based on the trade-off you care about: more physical screen area on the V50, or the V80’s higher listed resolution and refresh-rate ceiling. The specifications alone do not establish which display looks better in person.

The two phones emphasize different camera options. The V50 lists a 50 MP main camera with OIS and a 50 MP autofocus ultra-wide camera with a 119.4° field of view. Those specifications make the ultra-wide lens its clearest distinction in this comparison.

For the V80, vivo highlights a 50 MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom and OIS, alongside 4K cinematic video and 4K 60fps recording. That gives it a stated telephoto and video-feature emphasis, but does not prove that it takes better photographs or video overall. No independent camera comparison is established by the cited official sources.
Battery, processor and software differences
vivo lists a typical battery capacity of 7200 mAh for the V80 (7015 mAh rated), compared with 6000 mAh typical for the V50. Both list 90W FlashCharge. Capacity figures do not predict a specific user’s runtime, and vivo notes that actual battery and charging behavior depends on usage.

The V80 lists Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, OriginOS 7 and Android 17; the V50 lists Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, Funtouch OS 15 and Android 15. These are the software and processor labels shown in the India product material. No benchmark comparison or verified software-update policy is available in the cited sources, so the newer listed platform should not be treated as a measured performance result or an update guarantee.
Which should you choose?
Consider the vivo V50 if
- You want the lower launch price or find a favorable current seller price.
- You prefer the larger 6.77-inch display.
- An ultra-wide camera is more useful to you than a telephoto camera.
Consider the vivo V80 if
- You value its higher-resolution display and up-to-144-Hz capability in supported apps.
- You want the larger stated battery capacity and newer listed chipset and software versions.
- You would use the stated 3× telephoto camera or 4K video features enough to justify the higher launch price.
Availability matters: vivo announced the V80 on October 6, 2026, with India sales scheduled to start October 13 through partner retail, vivo’s site, Flipkart and Amazon. That schedule does not confirm general availability or stock; check live listings and the final price with your seller.

What to verify before buying
- Compare the current payable price for the same RAM and storage tier, including any offer conditions.
- Confirm the exact configuration, seller, warranty and stock status for your location.
- Check that the apps you use support the V80’s 144 Hz mode if that feature is part of your decision.
- Choose camera features by the framing you need—ultra-wide on V50 or the V80’s stated telephoto option—rather than assuming one produces better images.
