The vivo V70 is the stronger spec sheet on paper: a newer Snapdragon chip, faster memory and storage standards, a larger typical battery, a dedicated telephoto camera and a higher-resolution display. The V50 keeps a larger screen and lists the same 90W charging and IP68/IP69 ratings. Whether the V70 costs more is a separate question, and the official material reviewed here does not yet support a price gap, because the two phones were not priced side by side in the same market and storage configuration.

Where the V70 is different
Most of the gap sits in four areas. Each is a listed specification, not a tested outcome.
Processor and memory
The V70 moves from Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 to Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, both on a 4 nm process, and from LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage to LPDDR5X and UFS 4.1. These are generational upgrades on paper. How much faster the phone feels in daily use depends on thermal behaviour, software and workload, and none of that was measured for this comparison.

Battery
The V70’s typical rating is 6500 mAh against 6000 mAh for the V50. Both list 90W charging, so the V70 should not charge faster on that basis. Typical ratings are averages set by the manufacturer, and battery life will vary with screen settings, signal strength and use.
Display
The V50 offers a 6.77-inch panel, while the V70 uses a 6.59-inch panel with a 2750×1260 resolution. Pixel count and screen size trade off against each other: the V70 is sharper per inch on its listed numbers, but the V50 gives more screen area. Neither page reports brightness or colour measurements.

Cameras
The V50 has two rear cameras listed: a 50 MP OIS main sensor and a 50 MP autofocus wide-angle. The V70 adds an 8 MP ZEISS ultra-wide and a 50 MP ZEISS super telephoto. vivo’s product overview describes the telephoto as a source of “sharp, vibrant distant portraits” and cites 3x optical zoom. That is vivo’s own description. Photo quality at that zoom has not been independently tested.
Where the two phones match
Both models list 90W wired charging, IP68 and IP69 ingress protection, a 50 MP autofocus front camera with a 92° field of view, and a 50 MP OIS main rear camera. If you mainly care about charging speed, water and dust resistance, or selfie hardware on paper, the two are interchangeable.

Price difference: what can and cannot be said
The only price in the official material reviewed is for the V50. The vivo India Store listed the V50 8GB/256GB at ₹42,999 when checked on 4 October 2026. The same store page also identifies 8GB/128GB and 12GB/512GB V50 configurations, but no prices for them appeared in the material reviewed.
The official India V70 specification page lists 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB configurations, but it does not show a price. That means there is no like-for-like V70 price to subtract from the V50’s ₹42,999, and no price difference can be stated yet.

Prices in this category change with promotions, bank offers, stock and launch timing, so a price check is only useful when it records the date, market, retailer and exact storage tier.

- Pick one country. Prices in India, for example, do not transfer to other markets.
- Match the storage tier exactly. Compare 8GB/256GB with 8GB/256GB, not with a 12GB model.
- Open the vivo store page for each model in that country and note the listed price, the date and any offer shown.
- Repeat the check at a retailer you would actually buy from, and record its stock status.
- Subtract only when both prices are from the same market, configuration and date.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the V70 if you want the newer listed chip and memory/storage standards, a larger battery rating, or a telephoto lens for distant subjects, and if its price in your market is close to or below the V50’s.
- Choose the V50 if you prefer the larger 6.77-inch screen, or if its local price is clearly lower for the storage tier you need. The V50 also lacks the V70’s telephoto lens, which matters only if you shoot at distance.
- Wait on a price decision until both models have a matched local price on the same date. Specs alone do not settle which is the better value.
Independent tests of performance, battery life, camera quality and durability were not part of this comparison, so the advantages above are based on manufacturer specifications.
