On vivo’s own India specification pages, the vivo X300 FE lists the larger battery, faster wired charging, and newer software. The vivo V40 Pro lists the bigger screen and a lower price for its 12GB+512GB configuration. The price gap between the two is not like-for-like, because the configurations differ in storage. The figures below are what vivo lists on its India specification pages and store listings checked in 2026. They are not measured performance results.

Screen size and display
The clearest physical difference is screen size. The V40 Pro’s listed 6.78-inch display is about 0.47 inches larger than the X300 FE’s 6.31-inch panel. Both are AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate. The V40 Pro’s listed resolution is 2800 × 1260, and the X300 FE’s is 2640 × 1216. If you prefer a larger screen, the V40 Pro is the phone in this pair that offers it. If you want a smaller handset, the X300 FE is the one to consider.

vivo X300 FE
The X300 FE’s specification page lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and OriginOS 6 on Android 16.
The names of the chipsets and the Android versions show which software base each phone starts from. They do not show how fast either phone will feel in daily use. Neither specification page states how long each phone will receive software updates, so that question cannot be answered from these listings.

Cameras
Both phones list a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 50MP front camera. The rear telephoto and wide lenses differ, as the table shows.

The two phones trade off in opposite directions. The V40 Pro lists a higher-resolution wide lens, while the X300 FE lists a longer optical zoom with stabilization on its telephoto lens. Megapixel counts do not decide photo quality, because sensor size, lens design, and image processing all matter. The specification pages do not provide enough information to pick a camera winner.

On paper, the X300 FE has about 1,000mAh more typical capacity and a higher listed charging wattage. These are capacity and wattage ratings from vivo’s specification pages. They are not measured battery-life results or charging times.
Price difference: what the listings show

The ₹29,000 gap is the difference between the V40 Pro 12GB+512GB at ₹60,999 and the X300 FE 12GB+256GB at ₹89,999. That comparison mixes two different storage tiers, so it overstates how much more the X300 FE costs for the same storage. The V40 Pro listing with 256GB of storage was not found in the checked store pages, so a same-storage price comparison between the two phones is not available here.

Optional accessory for the X300 FE
vivo states that its ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is compatible with the X300 FE and must be bought separately. It is not included in the phone’s listed price. Confirm the accessory’s availability and compatibility on the vivo India X300 FE overview before buying one. The V40 Pro has no equivalent accessory listed in the sources used for this comparison.
Which phone fits which priorities
On the listed specifications alone, the X300 FE has the stronger sheet for battery, charging, chipset generation and Android version. The V40 Pro offers a larger screen and a 512GB storage option at its listed price.
- Choose the V40 Pro if you want a 6.78-inch screen, 512GB of storage, or a lower listed entry price.
- Choose the X300 FE if you want the larger listed battery, 90W wired charging, Android 16 software, or a 3x optical telephoto lens.
- Consider the X300 FE’s 12GB model only if the extra RAM matters to you, since it costs ₹5,000 more than the 8GB model at listed prices.
- Consider storage first: if you need 512GB, the V40 Pro is the only one of the two with that configuration in the listings checked.
What these listed figures do not establish
