vivo’s new 8,000mAh phone is the X500 Pro Max, announced in China on September 21, 2026. vivo confirmed a September 24 China sale date and a starting price of CNY 6,999, but has not officially announced international markets or dates. A global release has been reported as expected, not confirmed as a schedule.
What is vivo’s new 8,000mAh phone?
It is the vivo X500 Pro Max, part of the X500 series unveiled in Shanghai on September 21, 2026. vivo lists an 8,000mAh Blue Ocean battery for the Pro Max. That is the manufacturer’s stated capacity, not a battery-life test: it does not establish how long the phone lasts in everyday use.
The launch announcement also describes a 6.85-inch BOE Q11 2K ZEISS Master Color display, a 200MP APO super-telephoto camera, 4K 240fps cinematic slow-motion recording, and 8K native Live capture. vivo says the telephoto camera supports the equivalent of a 400mm vivo ZEISS teleconverter G2 Ultra. The stated platform is Blue Crystal × MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, and the phone runs OriginOS 7. Is the X500 Pro Max launching globally?
vivo’s announcement confirms the China launch and sales information, but does not name international countries or an overseas release date. Android Central reported on September 21 that the Pro Max was expected to receive a global release, while noting that timing and non-China pricing were not known. As of the announcement, the evidence supports saying that an international release is expected by a secondary report, but not that vivo has officially introduced the phone in global markets. Availability, regional model details, and international pricing remain unconfirmed in these sources.
When does it go on sale, and how much does it cost?
For China, vivo says the X500 and X500 Pro Max go on sale September 24, 2026. The X500 Pro sale begins September 29. Prices below are the manufacturer’s China starting prices; they are not international prices.

How does the Pro Max compare with the X500 Pro?
The launch information gives one useful battery comparison: vivo specifies 8,000mAh for the Pro Max and 6,510mAh for the X500 Pro. It does not provide comparable real-world runtime figures, so the capacity difference alone cannot show how much longer either phone lasts in use.
The Pro Max has a 6.85-inch BOE Q11 2K ZEISS Master Color display, while vivo describes the X500 Pro display as a 6.78-inch BOE Q10+ 2K display. For imaging, vivo highlights the Pro Max’s 200MP APO super-telephoto camera.
