On published specifications, the vivo T5x 5G has the larger battery (7,200mAh against Samsung’s 5,000mAh typical rating) and the higher water-resistance ratings (IP68 and IP69 against IP64). The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G counters with a Super AMOLED display, an optically stabilised main camera, and a stated six-year security-update commitment. In India, the prices reviewed for this article put the vivo about ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 below the Galaxy at the two RAM and storage tiers where both prices were available. That gap depends on dates, offers, and seller, so treat it as a snapshot rather than a fixed difference.

Where the specifications diverge
Battery and charging
The vivo has the larger rated capacity by 2,200mAh and lists 44W charging. Samsung describes its 5,000mAh figure as typical and says Super Fast Charging can reach up to 45% in 30 minutes, without giving a wattage. A higher capacity suggests more stored energy, but it does not on its own tell you how long either phone lasts between charges, because screen, chipset, and software all shape drain.

Display
Both screens are large, high-refresh panels, but the technology differs. vivo lists an LCD, while Samsung lists Super AMOLED with FHD+ resolution. The vivo’s listed 2344 × 1080 resolution is not the same FHD+ label Samsung uses. Which screen looks better in daily use is a question the specifications cannot settle.

Cameras
Samsung’s rear set is the more complete on paper: an OIS-equipped 50MP wide camera, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. vivo’s listed rear set pairs a 50MP main camera with a 2MP bokeh sensor and has no ultrawide lens. The front camera favours vivo at 32MP against Samsung’s 12MP. Megapixel counts and lens lists do not show how either camera performs in practice.
Water resistance
vivo’s IP68 and IP69 ratings are the stronger figures, and they are based on the test conditions behind each rating. Samsung’s IP64 is a splash-resistance rating, and Samsung itself advises against using the phone at the beach or by a pool. Neither rating is permission for routine submersion.
Software support
Samsung makes the clearest published commitment. Its India launch announcement says:
“The smartphone offers six times Android OS/One UI upgrades and six years of security updates.”
Samsung’s product page adds that update timing can vary by model and market. vivo’s specification page confirms Android 16 with OriginOS 6, but it does not state how long the T5x will receive updates, so no matching promise can be made for it.

A price difference is only meaningful when both phones are compared at the same RAM and storage tier, from prices captured on a known date, under known offer conditions. The figures below come from three different sources, and they are not all equivalent.
Samsung launch prices (June 30, 2026)
Samsung’s India launch announcement lists net effective prices of ₹28,999 for 6GB/128GB, ₹31,999 for 8GB/128GB, and ₹37,499 for 8GB/256GB. The announcement presents these alongside a ₹3,000 bank and UPI cashback offer. The material does not say whether that cashback is already deducted from the net effective figures, so confirm the final amount at checkout. These are offer-linked launch prices from roughly three months ago, not a guaranteed current price.
vivo India store listing (undated)
vivo’s India store showed ₹27,999 for the 6GB/128GB configuration and ₹34,999 for 8GB/256GB. It displayed a different selection and availability state for the 8GB/256GB option, so check that variant is in stock before comparing. The 8GB/128GB price was not available, so no comparison can be made for that tier. The listing date was not recorded alongside these prices.
Third-party comparison listing
A third-party comparison page showed Amazon prices of ₹27,099 for the vivo T5x and ₹33,999 for the Galaxy A27 5G. It did not confirm matching configurations, stock, or the date of the capture, so these figures should not be used to state a definitive price gap.

These two gaps compare an offer-linked launch price with an undated store price, so they indicate direction rather than a settled difference. Before buying, check both sellers on the same day and note whether bank, UPI, or exchange offers apply.
