On published specifications, the vivo T5x 5G is the stronger pick. It has a much sharper 2344×1080 display, a higher-tier listed processor, a 32MP selfie camera and IP68/IP69 ratings. The realme 16x 5G answers with a higher refresh-rate ceiling (144Hz against 120Hz), slightly faster rated charging (45W against 44W) and a lower entry price in the marketplace listings checked on 7 October 2026. None of these figures measure real battery life, camera quality or day-to-day speed, and the price gap depends on the seller and the memory configuration you compare.
Specifications side by side
The table below uses the values each manufacturer lists on its India product pages. Where a value is not listed for a model, the table says so.
| Specification | vivo T5x 5G | realme 16x 5G | What it means for a buyer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.76-inch LCD, 2344×1080, up to 120Hz, 1200-nit HBM (vivo India) | 6.81-inch LCD, 1570×720, up to 144Hz, 1200-nit HBM (realme India Store) | vivo has far higher pixel resolution; realme lists the higher refresh rate. Neither number alone settles display quality. |
| Processor | MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo, 4nm, CPU up to 2.6GHz | MediaTek Dimensity 6300, 6nm, CPU up to 2.4GHz | The paper specification favors vivo. No independent benchmark was run for this comparison. |
| Battery | 7200mAh | 7000mAh | vivo lists 200mAh more rated capacity. Real endurance is not established by either listing. |
| Charging | 44W | 45W | realme lists 1W more rated charging power. Actual charging time was not measured. |
| Rear cameras | 50MP Sony IMX852 main, plus 2MP bokeh | 50MP main camera | Both list a 50MP main camera. Sensor, software and image quality differences were not tested. |
| Front camera | 32MP | 8MP | vivo lists the higher selfie resolution, which does not by itself prove better photos or video. |
| Water and dust rating | IP68 and IP69, with vivo’s resistance caveat | IP65 | vivo publishes the higher ratings; both ratings come from the manufacturers, not independent testing. |
| Memory and storage | 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB or 8GB+256GB (official specifications) | 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB or 6GB+256GB (official store) | The base RAM configuration differs. Compare matching storage tiers. |
| Software | Android 16, OriginOS 6 | Android 16 with realme UI, per a third-party comparison listing | Promised OS and security-update duration is not confirmed by the manufacturer pages checked; ask the manufacturer before relying on it. |
Display: sharpness or refresh rate
The vivo panel has roughly 2.9 times the pixels of the realme panel (2,531,920 against 1,130,400 at the listed resolutions, before any scaling). That difference shows most in text, icons and fine detail. The realme’s 144Hz ceiling matters more to people who play fast games or scroll heavily, and only where the app or game actually runs at that rate. A 120Hz ceiling is already smooth for most users, so a buyer who values crisp text should weigh vivo’s resolution more heavily than realme’s refresh rate.

vivo lists the Dimensity 7400-Turbo, which sits higher in MediaTek’s line than the Dimensity 6300 in the realme. On paper that points to more headroom for multitasking and heavier games. The listing does not show sustained performance, thermal behavior or real frame rates, so treat the chipset gap as a reason to expect more headroom, not as a measured speed difference.

Battery and charging
Both phones carry large batteries, and the rated capacities differ by only 200mAh. The charging rating gap is 1W, which is too small to change how long a charge takes in practice. Battery endurance depends on the screen resolution and refresh setting you use, the apps you run and signal conditions, none of which the listings control. Neither manufacturer’s figures were checked against a controlled endurance test.
Cameras
Both list a 50MP main camera, so the headline rear-camera number does not separate them. vivo adds a 2MP bokeh unit and names a Sony IMX852 sensor for its main camera. The selfie difference is larger: 32MP against 8MP. A higher selfie resolution can help in good light, but processing, lens and sensor size decide the final result. Sample images were not compared for this article.
Water and dust protection
vivo lists IP68 and IP69, while realme lists IP65. IP65 covers dust and low-pressure water jets; IP68 and IP69 cover deeper or higher-pressure water exposure under the test conditions each rating specifies. vivo’s own India page adds two caveats that buyers should read in full:
- “The resistance to water , water jets and dust is not permanent and may be reduced with daily use.”
- “Damage caused by liquid ingress is not covered by warranty.”
In practice, the rating is a protection level that wears with use, not a licence to submerge the phone. Neither manufacturer’s protection rating should be read as permission for routine swimming or immersion.
Memory, storage and software
The two phones are not offered in matching memory tiers. vivo’s listed configurations start at 6GB+128GB and include an 8GB+256GB option. realme’s start at 4GB+128GB and reach 6GB+256GB. The easiest like-for-like comparison is 6GB+128GB against 6GB+128GB, or 8GB+256GB against 6GB+256GB, and both pairs should be checked against the exact model number on the seller’s page. On software, both list Android 16. The update promise is the part to verify: the realme figure comes from a third-party comparison page, and the manufacturer pages checked here do not confirm a specific number of years of OS or security updates.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.India prices and the price difference
No price can be treated as stable or official for both phones at once. The two figures below come from different sellers on different pages, and they should not be combined into one price gap for the same product.
realme 16x 5G on the official realme India Store
On 7 October 2026 the realme India Store displayed ₹28,999 for the Glory White 4GB+128GB configuration of the realme 16x 5G. This is the seller page price for that one variant, and offers, bank discounts and stock can change without notice. The vivo India page checked on the same date did not show a price, so no official vivo figure is available from that source.

Amazon India snapshot on 91mobiles
A 91mobiles comparison page, observed on 7 October 2026, listed ₹27,149 for the vivo T5x and ₹22,599 for the realme 16x 5G on Amazon India. The gap on that page is ₹4,550, with vivo higher. Those are marketplace figures, not confirmed checkout prices for matched memory configurations, and the page does not state which variant or offer each price applies to.
Why the two figures cannot be compared directly
The realme price is for a 4GB+128GB variant on the manufacturer’s store. The vivo and realme Amazon figures are third-party listing prices with unstated variants. A matched comparison needs the same seller, the same date, the same RAM and storage, and the same kind of price (list or effective offer after coupon and bank deals). Before you buy, check:
- The exact model number and RAM/storage variant you intend to buy.
- The seller name and the price shown at checkout, not on the product card.
- Any coupon, bank or exchange conditions that change the final amount.
- Whether the listing is for the Glory White or another colour, if colour changes the price.
Which one to buy
- Choose the vivo T5x 5G if crisp text and video, a higher listed chipset tier, a 32MP selfie camera or the IP68/IP69 ratings matter most to you, and its checkout price for your chosen memory tier is within your budget.
- Choose the realme 16x 5G if a 144Hz refresh ceiling matters, you are comfortable with a 720p-height display, and its checkout price for the 6GB or 4GB variant you want is clearly lower on the day you buy.
- Do not decide on specifications alone. Neither phone has been independently tested here for camera quality, battery endurance or performance, so reviews from independent testers should be part of the decision for anyone who relies on those areas.
Specifications sources used: vivo India product and parameter pages, the realme India Store product listing, and the 91mobiles comparison page, all checked on 7 October 2026.
