The vivo T5x 5G and TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G make different trade-offs: TECNO specifies a sharper, faster-refresh AMOLED display and a lighter body, while vivo lists a larger battery and higher-resolution front camera. Which phone has the better display?
On the listed specifications, the POVA 8 Pro has the more advanced display hardware: it uses AMOLED, offers 144Hz refresh, and has a slightly larger 6.78-inch panel with 2644 × 1208 resolution. The vivo T5x has a 6.76-inch FHD+ LCD with refresh rates up to 120Hz. Those specifications indicate differences in panel type and refresh-rate ceiling; they do not establish which screen looks better in every setting. Brightness figures come from manufacturer claims and measurement modes, so they are not a direct real-world comparison.

How do the batteries and charging compare?
vivo lists a 7,200mAh battery, 700mAh larger in stated capacity than TECNO’s 6,500mAh battery. Both manufacturers list charging near 45W: vivo specifies 44W FlashCharge, while TECNO specifies 45W Super Charge. vivo’s stated 50% charge time is 43 minutes under its laboratory conditions. Because test methods and usage differ, these capacities and charging claims do not prove which phone will last longer or charge faster in everyday use.

What are the camera differences?
The rear camera setups serve different stated configurations. vivo lists a 50MP main camera and 2MP bokeh camera, while TECNO lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, vivo lists a 32MP front camera and 4K recording at 30fps; TECNO lists a 13MP front camera. Megapixel counts and feature lists alone do not establish image quality, low-light performance or video stabilization results.
Which one is thinner and lighter?
TECNO lists the POVA 8 Pro at 189g and 7.39mm thick; vivo lists the T5x at 219g and 8.39mm thick. On those manufacturer figures, TECNO’s phone is 30g lighter and 1mm thinner. Treat that as a comparison of listed specifications, since regional variants and measurement conventions may differ.

What is the price difference?

TECNO’s official specification and product pages list the POVA 8 Pro 5G but do not establish its price. To calculate a useful difference, compare live listings in the same country for equivalent storage configurations and check seller, offers and variant details. Software support and durability to check before buying
vivo states two OS-generation upgrades and four years of security updates for the T5x; TECNO states two Android-generation updates and three years of security patches for the POVA 8 Pro. These are manufacturer commitments, not a guarantee that regional release timing or update availability will be identical everywhere.
The protection ratings are also manufacturer claims, not a reason to expose either phone to water deliberately. vivo specifically warns that water resistance can diminish over time and that liquid damage is not covered by warranty. TECNO’s listed IP ratings and Gorilla Glass 7i are subject to its stated test conditions. Check the warranty and protection terms that apply in your market.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the TECNO POVA 8 Pro if its locally available configuration and price suit you and you prioritize the listed AMOLED 144Hz display, OIS plus an ultra-wide rear camera, or the lighter and thinner body.
- Consider the vivo T5x if you prioritize the larger listed battery, 32MP front camera with stated 4K/30fps recording, or an India launch configuration whose price point is known. Verify current local pricing before purchase.
- Compare both listings directly if price is the deciding factor. Match country and storage tier, and confirm seller, warranty, and the exact 5G model rather than inferring value from an unverified price gap.
