Which phone is better for battery and charging?
The vivo T5 Pro has the larger rated battery and higher listed charging power: 9020mAh and 90W, compared with the POVA 8 Pro’s 6500mAh and 45W. Those figures make vivo the more compelling choice if battery capacity and charging specifications are your priority.
Capacity and wattage do not reveal how long either phone lasts for a particular user or how quickly it charges from empty. Screen brightness, workload, network conditions, ambient temperature, and charging behavior can affect those results; the listed specifications are not a like-condition battery or charging test.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Which phone has the better display?
Both phones list 144Hz AMOLED screens, so their stated refresh rates are in the same class. The vivo panel is slightly larger and has a higher listed resolution: 6.83 inches at 2800 × 1260, versus TECNO’s 6.78 inches at 2644 × 1208. TECNO specifies Gorilla Glass 7i. These figures describe the panels, not measured brightness, color accuracy, or outdoor visibility.
Which phone offers more camera flexibility?
The POVA 8 Pro’s listed rear-camera setup includes a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The vivo T5 Pro lists a 50MP main camera and a 2MP bokeh/depth camera. TECNO therefore specifies a dedicated ultrawide option for wider scenes, while vivo lists a higher-resolution front camera: 32MP versus 13MP.

Camera resolution and feature lists do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. Image processing, lens performance, stabilization in use, and low-light results require comparable testing; no independent comparative results are established here.
How do performance, software, and memory compare?
The vivo uses a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, while TECNO lists a Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G processor and Mali-G615 MC2 graphics. Both are specified as 4nm octa-core platforms. Without comparable independent benchmarks or sustained-use testing, these specifications do not support naming a performance winner or predicting which will perform better in a particular game.

Both are listed with Android 16-based software: OriginOS 6.0 on vivo and HiOS 16 on TECNO. The available model-specific information does not establish comparable update durations, so check each manufacturer’s support information for the exact regional model before buying if update policy is decisive.
For memory and storage, compare the actual configuration you intend to purchase. TECNO’s “extended RAM” is virtual/extended memory and should not be treated as equivalent to physical RAM. A 12GB extended-RAM listing does not mean the phone has 24GB of physical memory.

Which phone is lighter and what protection is listed?
TECNO specifies a weight of 189g, while vivo’s store listing gives 213g—a 24g difference on those listed figures. The TECNO may suit buyers who prioritize lower stated weight, but verify the precise local SKU and whether the quoted weight includes any accessories.
vivo lists IP68/IP69 protection. TECNO lists IP68/IP69/IP69K claims and qualifies its ratings as tested under controlled conditions. These are not a promise that a handset is immune to damage in every exposure; check the manufacturer’s terms and the exact regional model. Connectivity bands and warranty coverage can also vary by market.

What is the price difference in India?
There is no dependable, unconditional price difference without checking current listings for the same RAM and storage tier. vivo’s India launch announcement on April 15, 2026 listed launch prices of ₹29,999 for 8GB/128GB, ₹33,999 for 8GB/256GB, and ₹39,999 for 12GB/256GB, with sales stated to begin April 21, 2026. The announcement also described conditional bank/UPI or exchange offers, so those offers should not be treated as guaranteed prices.
A later vivo India store snapshot showed ₹41,999 for a selected 8GB/128GB configuration and ₹46,999 for a selected 8GB/256GB configuration; store prices can change and are not the launch prices. The checked official TECNO sources did not establish an official India launch price. Comparison-site snapshots showed different vivo prices—₹37,599 at Gadgets Now and ₹37,499 at Smartprix—alongside ₹49,999 for TECNO, but these are not manufacturer prices or a confirmed checkout quote.
For a useful comparison, check live India listings on the day you buy, match RAM and storage, and compare the final price, seller, warranty, and any conditional offer. Do not assume an India price, cellular band, warranty, or product availability applies in another country. vivo’s official store listing is at vivo India store.
Quick Recap
Which one should you buy?
- Choose vivo T5 Pro 5G if the listed 9020mAh battery and 90W charging matter most, or you prefer its larger, higher-resolution display and 32MP front-camera specification.
- Choose TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G if you want a listed 8MP ultrawide camera, a lighter stated weight, or Gorilla Glass 7i on the display.
- Compare both more closely if gaming performance, actual battery life, charging time, camera quality, or software-update support will decide your purchase. The specifications alone do not settle those questions.
